I love message boards during the carousel.
One guy posts on the OU board, "Done deal." A few minutes later someone replied, "Yep, Venables will be announced at 3:00 today."
And, their board blows up. Fans will believe anything you tell them.
I don't think Venables is going to OU. I would be surprised if he did.
I would be absolutely SHOCKED AND AMAZED if he was announced this afternoon. (If he were, that would mean that Riley, Stoops and the AD worked out the details of him leaving and Stoops coaching the bowl game a month ago - which I think is plausible- and that the AD started his search back then.)

I would be shocked if he went back to OU, OU practically run him off. Dabo wasn't yet a lock at Clemson, and he took BV out of OU with orange at the time being his most hated color. I will not believe any BS coming from fans, or sports news. Sport new will lie just to have something that will get a hit, and they don't have to apologize for it either, and they will move on and start a another rumor that they know fact-less!!!

Tell your buddy that BV knows nothing about it. As long as Dabo's job at Clemson is solid, I don't see BV going anywhere less he got fired at Clemson, and as long as Dabo has a seat at the head of the table at Clemson, BV will never be fired.
Plus, BV just isn't one of those types of coaches that wants the head aches from being a HC. He is making TOP OC pay at Clemson, and with the head coaching jobs being a carousel as it is, I would bet that BV isn't leaving Clemson, he would have to be run off before he leaves for another job!!!

All the talk about BV going to Soonerland is similar to the toilet paper splurge of 2020. It's all panic buying based on zero real information - just a frenzy created from a mention of a frenzy.
