I suspect Deshaun wants to win. I have no doubt that huge money is great, but when the huge money traps him with a losing team then that has very significant negative consequences too. Large endorsement deals DO NOT go to the highest paid guy that loses. Deshaun can only maximize his business potential by winning. Deshaun knows it and I suspect Deshaun knows that Houston’s Ownership doesn’t give a rip about helping him maximize his potential.

Deshaun is wired to win and if he wins the rest will take care of itself. The Texans are wired to make money, so are the Cowboys and so is UT. Money is fine, but all that money has made all three of those organizations apathetic about winning.

Deshaun is right to leave, the sooner the better, can’t leave fast enough. He needs to go somewhere where it’s crystal clear that winning is the priority and they have a solid plan to achieve it.
