Biggest sentimental game for you?

Of all the football, basketball and baseball games what game will you always value personally?
Mine is definitely the first game I went to, but also ACC championship in Tampa 2009. Watching spiller, being there with my pops and almost witnessing the first conference title I was old enough to see.
We lost in typical fashion around that era, but the fans and atmosphere was something I'll never forget. It's easy to pull for a title team but the Clemson spirit that night is something I'll never forget.

I agree whole heartedly!!! That was totally unexpected, and those are the most memorable.
I've still got a picture of the scoreboard with Clemson leading and 0:38 seconds on the clock (for George Rogers).

The 2016 National Championship game in Tampa. My daughter was the Tiger Cub mascot on the field. She was the mascot for 3 years and that was her last football game in the suit. Not to mention sitting in the end zone where Renfrow caught the game winner for our first National Championship in 35 years.

I was a sophomore in 1981 so having her involved in our next national championship was really special.

that put a dagger into the chickens! It's the only Clemson-coot game I've ever attended in Cooterville! It was quite memorable, but I have no desire to attend another game down there! A coot fan and his wife, who happened to be my neighbors, were sitting just a few rows behind me! They were both so drunk, I have no idea how they got out of the stadium!

My most sentimental game is one that I wasn't at nor saw on T.V. at the time.
I was on a Boy Scout camping trip on October 10, 1992. Clemson was playing Virginia in Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, VA. I listened to Jim Phillips call the game on a handheld radio throughout the afternoon into the evening giving updates to the other Scouts and Scout Leaders.
During the first half as Virginia scored with no answer resulting in a 28-0 score, everyone around me figured that Clemson was going to lose the game. When Louis Solomon scored before the half for a 28-7 halftime score, I kept the radio on to listen.
The third quarter was filled with everyone around me saying "Why are you still listing?", "They are going to lose!". I told them, "YOU GOTTA BELEIVE!" Still they had given up. I still listened and gave updates for anyone that cared. Those updates were filled with Phillips saying "Touchdown Clemson!" multiple times.
Near the end of the game everyone was huddled around me listening to Jim Phillips call the game on my handheld radio. We had battled back and were down 2 points 28-26. When Phillips announced that Welch had made the field goal to go up 29-28, most everyone around me cheered. In the end we had won the game.
At the time it was the 2nd greatest comeback in college football history.
As a life lesson from that weekend, sometimes you "gotta believe".

I can't remember all the details why but I was in Virginia Beach when that game played....wound up sitting at an Applebee's . seeing the look on Hatfields face when the win was secured was pretty good.

A group of were traveling to Wisconsin and we were behind 35-10 at the half, I think. Then, we got out of range of any radio station carrying the game, and one of our chaperones kept saying, "We don't ever lose to Virginia!" I wasn't until the next morning, when he found a newspaper and saw that we had come bank and won 40-35!

Watched bits and pieces of the first half during session breaks. Got to watch most of the 4th. When it ended, I was running around the break room screaming "1-2-3-4...."
Other adults tried to shush me. I was never invited back.

In 52 years there have been meny but probably the #1 for me was the 1981 Clemson-Georgia game against Hershel Walker. #2 is a tie between the 1977 Clemson-USC game and the 2004 bowl victory over Tennessee.

I've always wondered about the difference in atmosphere in those times. Was it louder? Was it more intense? Crowd noise seems to be a newer thing compared to the 80s? Was it anything like UGA 2013?

Biggest difference in the 80s was it was ALL crowd noise. No DJ playing music blaring over huge speakers. Just the band playing a few notes between plays to get the crowd started and the rest was just fans getting crazy loud. It was just as loud and intense but it was all human energy. College football introduced a crowd noise rule in the 80s. If the QB said he couldn’t hear, the officials would warn the home team and if it happened again there would be a penalty. We took credit at DV for that rule being implemented. The atmosphere was FANtastic!

It was the 1981 Georgia game for me as well. My dad wrote “Herschel who?” On a sheet of paper and showed the paper to anyone that would look. I don’t know which I enjoyed more, the final score or watching my dad celebrate. That was the happiest I have ever been leaving DV. What a day.

Clemson vs Boston College October 17, 2015
This was the first and last game my Dad ever attended. He had been a life long Clemson fan and I made it a point to pay for and take him and my mom to a game. I landed Tickets in section I and a tailgate spot on the 2nd row of Lot 5 from the West Zone. They had a ball.
Clemson vs Oklahoma December 31, 2015
This was the last game I watched in person with my Dad and it was awesome when we proved we belonged in the playoff.
My dad died 55 days later on February 24, 2016 when he was clearing some tree debris that had fell in the road down from his drive way when another dead tree trunk fell on him.

1976 contest against the Cluckers in the Valley, which we won 28-9. It turned out to be Coach Red Parker's last game, and, having sat through the 56-20 debacle at The Roach in 1975, for us to win that game in convincing fashion in 1976 was sweet revenge. Especially since the totally unlikeable Jim Carlen was the Dirtpeckers coach at the time.

The next year she didn’t even say hello when I called just started cheering through the phone… so off to Tampa we go in hopes of a tiger victory… that last few seconds was the best thing for her… we celebrated with tears in our eyes… it was meant for us to be there to see the Tigers win… I will never forget that day.

I've been to many. 324 consecutive home games ( 50 years ) without missing. Many away games and bowl games. About a 14 years stretch attending every game home, away, and bowls. The Orange Bowl after the 1981 season was my favorite. One of the very best. Also, the 1977 home match up with Notre Dame. Joe Montana was their QB. The hill was so packed, me and a friend sat on a tree limb on the top corner of the hill. What a lifetime of great Clemson Football.

My sister( God rest her sole) and I were sent to the hill early that day by the folks. At 10:30 a.m. we were there w/ a picnic lunch. Impressive attendance stats and longevity my friend!

MTSU - I had not planned to go to that game. I had young kids and did not live nearby but had to make it. I took my son, not yet 2 and sat with my parents just below the press box. I could see Fulton as he called the TD drive. Still gives me chills and emotions! JP - forever the voice of the Tigers!
Bama - Yes, because of the title, but more so because I experienced with my kids.
