Believe me I want to see UNC punished in a big way. They are protected by Swofford and the NCAA is afraid of them.

Bingo.
I have said this is how the NCAA handles it with big named coaches. Look at all the football teams that are penalized after the coach moves on for reference.
Makes me sick that a small school like GSU gets put on probation before they can read get going in D1, while traditional powers get punished after-the-fact.

Didn't UNC self impose sanctions for a few years?
Isn't this outside the NCAA's jurisdiction?
The NCAA is already a crap shoot, do we really want to give them more power to fully investigate academics? Wouldn't this significantly slow down their investigations that already move at a glacial pace?
For gods sake an Ole Miss player admitted to getting paid at the draft and they still haven't done ####. Yet you expect a full investigation on something outside the NCAA's jurisdiction from decades ago. hahahahaha basically asking for blood from a stone

Fair. I have lost all faith in the NCAA as a sanctioning institution for college athletics. And it isn't just about UNC.

UNC tells the NCAA it is an academic problem. However they tell the accreditation company that is investigating them it is an athletic problem. Basically UNC has found a huge loophole and is getting away with the biggest scandal ever.

How is an academic scandal outside of the NCAAs control? Did they not pass graduation standards in order to maintain scholarship levels in football? Wasn't Syracuse punished by the NCAA for academic issues? Basketball is a dirty game in recruiting and ethics. If UNC gets away with their cheating, why should any school obey the NCAA rules?
