11/29/14 Was a day that us TIGERS should never ever forget.

May 7, 2019, 5:18 AM

I did something like this 2 years ago, but I felt like it needed to be updated!!!??

11/29/14 Was a day that us TIGERS should never ever forget. Three Clemson freshman Watson, Gallman & Scott went off on the Coots for a 35-17 Clemson Win. Watson in particular was amazing. He picked apart the Coots defense in Epic fashion on that beautiful Thanksgiving weekend literally on one Leg!!!!! That's just the stuff of legends! The Tigers delivered at home for the Clemson faithful a very long long overdue Victory snapping the dreadful 5 game losing streak against Usuck! It truly was a great win and as happy as us Clemson folks were, we didn't know how truly great that day was to come. That's because that was the day that the Gamecock football program officially died and the Clemson football program hit another gear. Now let's take a look at what we're talking about here. From the start of 2011 to 11/28/14 Usucks record was 39-11 (78.0%). Clemson Likewise was 40-11 (78.43%). Both were pretty dang good football teams during this time. Now let's take a look since Watson and the Gang officially killed the Coots. The Chickens have been a dismal 26-27 (49.05%) with 5 loses to Clemson in a row (One by 49 points), 2 losing seasons and a home loss to the Citadel....... Meanwhile in Tigertown the Clemson football program has soared. Since 11/28/14 the Good Guys in Orange offer you a record of 57-4 (93.44%) with a 9-2 record vs. AP top 10 Teams, an 18-2 Record vs. AP Top 25 Teams and a 20-2 Record against Teams Ranked in the AP, Coaches or CFP Polls. They've had numerous player and coaching awards, 6 Bowl wins against historical powers, 4 ACC Titles, 3 national title game appearances & 2 National Championships!! In early January of this year the Tigers Beat the Brakes off of Alabama 44-16 to become the first Major College Football Program since the 1800's to finish with a 15-0 Record. The Orange Machine climbed the mountain top and planted it's 2018 flag right next to the 2016 & 1981 Flags!! The Tigers Demolished Bama by 28 POINTS In Winning Clemsons 3rd Title, Oddly enough it was just a few days after the Virginia Cavaliers Beat the Coots by 28 POINTS. On 11/29/14 order was officially restored for 2 football programs. Clemson Won the game that day snapping an awful 5 game losing streak and they soared into the future and South Carolina's program officially died reverting to it's old ways of it's first 115+ years on the Gridiorn. Sorry Coots your football program only had a lifespan of 5 years.

Go Tigers, Beat Georgia Tech, Keep Pounding & GOD Bless Clemson!!!

Great post.

Their streak against us should’ve at least ended in 2013. That year we had the much better team. In fact in most of those seasons we beat an SEC team that they lost to (Auburn 2011, LSU 2012, UGA 2013). They weren’t nearly as far ahead of us as they thought. It was nothing like the gap between the two programs over the last five years. My how times have changed.

Tajh Boyd and Chad Morris choked in those games.***

I'll forever believe Chad Morris was the primary reason Cole Stoudt performed below his potential.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes. That and the fact that Connor Shaw always converted 3rd and forever ***

big time. Clowney was in Tahj's head

He was nervous every passing down

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He was in his face, which was even worse.

May 7, 2019, 11:03 AM

Tajh did some great things for us, though. He did tend to get Happy Feet when pressured.

Chad didn't exactly do him any favors with his play calling

May 7, 2019, 11:46 AM

How many times would we get down and then have consecutive 3 and outs with 3 incompletions? To me, it always felt like Chad would get into a hyperactive panic and forget that we're allowed to hand the ball off while calling plays and frantically playing with his chewing gum.

"The Chad" did a lot of good for Clemson, but was 1-3 against the Coots & OBC-SOS. HE ALWAYS LOOKED NERVOUS, CHAOTIC & PANICKY AGAINST THE COOTS

You made a great point.

During their win-streak, we averaged something like 4 turnovers per game and they had something like zero or 1.

Players running away from coverage and fumbling on the turf. Tahj putting the pigskin on the ground untouched and when nobody was even near him, etc... They got a lot of help from us in those contests. We had the better team at least 2x during that times-span.

None of it matters now/ If we turned ball 4+ more times than them now we'd still win by 3 touchdowns.

Re: 15 Tiger Turnovers (6 in 2013 alone) to only 3 Gamecock Turnovers from 2009-13

May 7, 2019, 9:20 AM

"In its five-game losing streak to the Gamecocks, Clemson has committed 15 turnovers while the Gamecocks have turned the ball over only three times. South Carolina has scored 62 points off turnovers while allowing none to Clemson."

And to this day they still think that they were Heads & Shoulders better. They were given a +2.5 turnover margin average from 09-13. Take all those turnovers away and it would have easily been a whole different story.

GOD Bless Clemson

I hear that. Their delusion runs deep.

They're so bitter/angry/delusional that they've lost all objectivity.

They're hopeless, and I for one am happy.

South Carowhina fans are getting exactly what they deserve. :)

Thanks for your post. Times have certainly changed. Dabo and his staff, players, administration, alumni, etc. have done it the right way.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

For some reason I always felt like Chad Morris...

May 7, 2019, 9:33 AM

coached his worst games against the Coots. We should have won the lat two games in that 5-streak and he mmade huge mistakes in going away from what was working.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I believe the Chad always felt like he had to do too much

May 7, 2019, 11:05 AM

in those games, as he was going up against the supposed offensive genius that was the Old Ball Sac. As stated, he got away from what worked in those games.

And Usuck fans criticized Dabo for playing Watson after he hurt his knee .

We know the real reason they criticized him .
