I still hold onto hope ND will fully join the ACC is the conference expands and brings in ND and 3 more to get to 18.

What "other three" would you suggest?

There really aren't any other teams available that would significantly move the needle and close the revenue differential gap.

I know, I know... we could get Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee! that would do it.

No way will ND join the ACC in football and sign the grant of rights deal that has 14 more years to run. It would be fiscal suicide for them like it is for us.

I have a feeling the ACC will get stuck with the noon time slots on ESPN and ABC that the Big Ten used to have and just be a warm up act for the SEC which will get the mid afternoon and prime time spots.

Add Oklahoma St., Penn St., Baylor, and Texas Tech or West Virginia.

Penn State will not leave the Big Ten for the ACC with that media deal. It would be like us leaving the ACC for the AAC.

In addition to Penn State not leaving the B1G, OK State, Baylor and Texas Tech are value-killers when it comes to a TV deal.

What does this mean for us, though?

Does ESPN own us now, and have no incentive to renegotiate our deal? Will the other networks have much appetite for additional product? And if so, will it be on a pay platform? Can’t see how this is anything but bad for little old Clemson.
Holding onto hopes that this deal is predicated on some expansion of the B20 that we may not know about yet.

Here’s the thing. ESPN threw in all their chips to be everything SEC. Now they are getting slapped by the Big10 putting their EastCoast and West Coast product on three other networks. The ACC will only get scraps. The ACC will only appear on NBC for ND home games, so nothing gets any better with ESPN’s SEC obsession.

money in it for them, they already have what they want. Fan bases in the ACC are about the same as the AAC conference. Only time any ACC sells tickets is when Clemson comes to town..... Swofford killed this conference, along with FSU, Miami, and VT not being worth a crap.
