Why are we recruiting TEs who can't out run defensive linemen?

I get that we want blockers but you don't want to go too extreme the other way.

Dex for sure Gary won't even be the first DE Xaiver Kelly will be a beast in 3 years and he won't get double teamed every play like Gary

Just in case y'all have been wondering too. I asked Dexter what technique he'll be lined up on. He said he'll be playing the three technique. That's the outside shoulder of the guard for those who don't know ??

I found that interesting. I had heard him say that in another interview and thought he would be a perfect shade nose or 1 technique. I guess they like Wilkins there and Lawrence at the 3. It ultimately doesn't really matter because they are both so darn good. Watkins and Pagano are too. I guess it will be Wilkins and Pagano at the 1, and Watkins and Lawrence at the 3.

Yea I definitely thought Lawrence was perfect for the nose spot too but every DT loves playing the three technique to be honest with you. They usually don't get double teamed and they make more plays than they would playing nose.

Dabo during the signing day stream said that Dex was 6'6 340 and ran a 5.0 40. That is flat out unbelievable.

Wow, is the kid really 6'6" ? I read 6'3" somewhere, regardless that's a big boy with some wheels. I hope he steps right in and dominates, he prolly has a lil chip on his shoulder too, as everybody talking about Gary non-stop.

He's not 6'6... More like 6'4"-6'5" but he's all of 325-330lb easy. And the fact that he already benches 225 30 times and runs a 5.0 is terrifying. I ran a 4.83 at 196lbs in college lol. I mean I knew I wasn't too quick but ####.
