This is starting to look eerily similar to FSU's fall that

began at the end of Jimbo's last year. Remember they had been one of the better teams in cfb for several years and then all of a sudden they couldn't block anybody despite great overall ranked recruiting classes? Then the play got worse at QB. And it just seemed to spread throughout the entire offense eventually.

Good point. Better nip it in the bud now, before it is too late...

Better believe it

I had similar thoughts.
Despite the past recruiting class success (especially hitting those too 5 classes as of late), seems like we're definitely coming to a crossroads that could determine the next 5-10 years of program success.
We're either going to bounce back like 'Bama or go the way of USC, Texas, and FSU after winning championships then struggling to get back to success.
Good news is our defense isn't the problem...bad news is the offense is and as many have pointed out there is just some sort of underlying dysfunction that's been evident since the 1st game and can no longer be sweeped under the rug.
Our offense lacks a team leader for sure compared to the defense. It's crazy we have receivers giving up on plays and not even completing routes - that should NEVER happen here.

With all the injuries the D could become a problem soon. Does anyone know when Capehart will be ready?

Yeah but let's be real here, we are 4-0 right now if this offense has any kind of rhythm.
IMO the defense getting hit with the injury bug is excusable. If the offense were down to nothin but 2nd and 3rd string starters it'd be a lot more endurable.
Brent V is not in danger of losing his job due to injuries if the defense slips from elite performance this year because of that reason - TE is definitely in the boiler

Starting to remind me a bit of Notre Dame in 2016 when they went 4-8. Their problem was defense but they (rightly) fired VanGorder after that season and ended up going 10-3 the next season.
I don’t see Clemson fading as a program the way Finebaum and other media members will project. But Dabo has to make some major changes. If we keep “doing what we do” and “being who we are” on offense we risk a lot more than a down season.

That would be an extreme comparison of a team falling off a cliff after championship years. Dabo would have to leave and we would have to tank a whole lot more. Another dominant program in the ACC would have to emerge too, that hasn’t helped FSU. The rise of the other FL programs during FSU’s descent would require an equivalent of USC to eclipse us, which isn’t going to happen again anytime soon (hopefully).
Getting QB figured out and bolstering our OL talent for next year will be incredibly important, but I see us taking a mulligan on this season and getting back to smashing teams next year.

Sorry, but I beg to disagree. Jimbo had been looking to get out of FSU for at least two years. He flirted with LSU and used that (along with his agent, Jimmy Sexton) to get a pay raise from FSU. when aTm lost their opening game to UCLA within a week or so Jimbo had reached an agreement in principle with them. He knew he was gone. He just let Sexton work out the details of just how much money he could get from them. By mid-October he had stopped recruiting, even giving a token appearance of recruiting. He had pulled all the coaches off the recruiting trail. In short, he had been looking to leave for two years and finally knew for certain he was leaving.
There is no evidence of Dabo being in the same situation. One day he may decide he is no longer "all in" at Clemson. But, there is no evidence of that happening now.
As bad as things seem to be at Clemson right now, y'all are a long way from repeating the FSU fiasco.
