Best opposing QB, RB, WR and Defensive player you've seen

in Death Valley in person? I'll start but keep in mind, I'm a youngin and I'm interested which football greats came through DV in the 80's-90's.
QB- Matt Ryan (in 2007 he was brilliant) RB- Todd Gurley (he's a stud, simple as that) WR- Calvin Johnson (again, freak of nature) Defender- this one was hard but probably Clowney (some may not like this but admit he ate us up in 2012, never seen a defensive player come into Clemson that was that hyped up/feared) I was also considering Keuchly from BC but didnt feel like he had the same effect on the field as Doo-Doo

QB: Phillip Rivers was very good against us . He has proven his worth on the next level as well . RB : Herschel Walker , and that is all I can say . I was a young guy , but he was something to watch. WR : Megatron went catchless in his only appearance in DV , I was there and it was wholly unimpressive . Gotta go with Peter Warrick, that guy was hard to stop. DEfensive Player : Dre Bly , he had a lock down on our WRs and he had a key INT .

All of those are good picks....

But I could have had a day like McNabb did against the Ford twins especially with Harrison at WR. My Lord they sucked. The RB (White?) killed us too that day. The day that Clemson football died. They were singing, "bye bye the Clemson Tiger eye, brought the fans to the esso but the esso was dry..."

Also recall Bruce Smith in 80s as a dominating player against us.

Joe Montana, Herschel, Calvin Johnson, LT

Saw Montana steal a game from us in 4th quarter that ripped my guts out, Herschel was a freight train with speed, Calvin a man among boys, an NFL WR as a freshman, LT was a terror like I have not seen since at OLB. Others were Lindsey Scott, Matt Ryan, and as much as this turns my guts, Sterling Sharpe, and George Rogers. Derrick Brooks, Deion Sanders as well.

Julius Peppers, hands down. He pretty much beat Clemson and Woody by himself one year.

We almost got him and missed, but Herschel was the best I have ever have seen Also, his recruitment was the most media coverage I have seen, and that was before recruiting was covered like it is now.

That I've SEEN
QB - Pat Sullivan, Auburn RB - Don McCauley, North Carolina (Road Game 1969) ... but in DV ... hmmm, nobody stands out ... WR - Alshon Jeffrey, South Carolina Defense - Jake Scott, Georgia
I love this question ... I will post and go up to read others ... it will be a good memory trip.

In the Valley:
QB: Joe Montana. I think we were the first of his many 4th quarter comebacks. It was heartbreaking efficiency.
RB: Herschel Walker: Brutal skill. Thankfully he was running into some of the best goal line defenses in Clemson history.
WR: Torry Holt: He was a nightmare, the sort of feeling I imagine folks had against us seeing Sammy on the field.
Defender: Two jump up, but only one in the Valley: Julius Peppers from UNC was brutal. The only other performance like it was Mike Singletary for Baylor in the 79 Peach Bowl.
