Jay has been an absolute inspiration. He is going to be successful in whatever he pursues.

Bummer. I felt like he would have played in the NFL..

Don't think it as a bummer. Jay has decided on another vocation. Good for him and we should all embrace it for his sake. He was one of the Tigers best at center. Thanks Jay for anchoring our National Championship team. And may God bless you in all you do.

I cannot believe that a center, with the character of Guillermo, who fed snaps to the best quarterback in college football, a two-time Heisman finalist, and from the national championship team, cannot find a place on an NFL roster. I'm glad that Jay is at peace with his decision but this truly saddens me. They said the defensive lines of Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Florida State and the like, would topple our OL over and have Deshaun covered in mud and grass. I can't remember ever once seeing anyone blow through Jay Guillermo over center. It's just appalling to me that no one will give this young man a shot at his dream.

Jay, I wish you the best of everything & good luck in all your future endeavors. But to you NFL teams and scouts - shame on you for letting this one slide by.

I think Jay's calling may be in coaching. During his senior year, every time I watched an interview of him, he seemed to speak very well with a very good understanding of the game - both from a technical and motivational point of view. I think he'd be a terrific coach.

Never, ever, will forget Jay blocking the Alabama All American 5 years deep into the endzone. That bama boy was a human blocking dummy for Jay. Good times! and Good Luck to whatever he chooses to do in life.

He'll make a heck of a coach. Maybe he'll get a shot at a smaller school and work his way up.

I think CUYankee said it best. Look at the studs he had to block. Felt about the same with MacLain last year. Do these people not look at the teams that Clemson has played and the film on Jay???? Or do they just care how big his feet and hands are and how high he can jump? Crazy.

I mean, he went up against the NFL DL and DT's every single day in practice. What other training do you need?

And yes, he would make an excellent coach!

THIS MAN!

Jun 7, 2017, 8:27 PM

What a man! Think about the courage it took to leave the team, even loving it so, and then realizing his decision was not what he really wanted, then deciding on coming back, knowing that he had to make amends with the coaches and the team and start all over re-earning his spot on the roster, and then not only earning a place, but starting. Then to get a shot at playing at the highest level in the end. I wish this fine man all the best.

NFL when compared to other positions. There's just not a lot of turn over at this position and the demand is lower. I'm not aware of JG ever making a bad snap during a game.
