So Lee is paired up with Tony Jacklin... after they tee off and are walking down the first fairway:
Jacklin: "Lee, I don't wanna talk today. I am 100% focused on my golf today".
Trevino: "Tony, I don't wonchu to talk neither. Just listen".

The Merry Mex was probably the best ball striker in golf history, and he was absolutely the best talker in history. I've always tried to have his positive attitude and fun on the golf course while still shooting a decent score. There'll never be another one like Lee Trevino.

I was at the master’s and saw him reach into a cooler full of drinks at one of the tee boxes. He didn’t like what he pulled out so he shook it up and put it back in the cooler.

I saw him on number 2 at the landing area. He was smoking a cigarette. He ground it out and pulled out a club and hit a fade toward the right side of the green. He didn’t like Augusta. Called it a hookers course.

Class of ‘71. Went through “rat season” and glad I did.


Didn't like Augusta because he wasn't long enough

It is a bomber's course for sure.

Zach Johnson laid up on every single par 5 during his last round. But... the dude won the thing. Hats off.

Lee knew how to get under people's skin. Jody Mudd planted his iron in the ground after Lee remarked about a tee shot than ran off the green into the sand trap on #5. He told Mudd that he couldn't read the green. The golf ball had run right pass the hole missing it by about three inches.
