Terry Allen

Oct 26, 2015, 7:38 PM

I want to take a moment to throw a shout-out to TA regarding the tough, physical play, of our RB's!

I don't think it's a coincidence that the physicality of our RB's roughly coincides with Terry being back at Clemson to complete his degree and him working with the RB unit. I must say from a personal standpoint that I probably enjoyed watching TA run the FB more than any other Clemson RB (no offense to CJ) that I ever saw. He punished would be tacklers and always pushed the pile forward. That sounds a lot like the Wayne Train, Dyshon Dye, CF Fuller, huh?

I hope that if TA's desire is to stay in coaching once he graduates, that Dabo will find a place for him on the staff on a permanent basis.

This is in no way intended as any kind of slight towards Tony Elliott who was coaching the RB's before he took over the co-coordinator job. After all, Tony recruited most of the talent that Terry is working with.

Great job Terry Allen!

When Gaulman has the rock the thought of a fumble never enters my mind.

He was a hoss. Hit the hole hard and if no hole was there he made one. Went to NFL and had at least 2 acl surgeries and still came back to lead his team. As OK state coach says, he is A MAN!

Couldn't agree more! Again, Dabo has surrounded our team with tremendous people! TA is amazing!

I hope you saw the interview he gave a few weeks ago. It was amazing. I hope there is a way to keep Terry Allen on staff even after he finishes school. He really is a great ambassador for Clemson. It was also great to see Charlie Waters as the Clemson Honorary Captain on the Dabo Swinney Show. So sorry that he lost his son a few years ago.

That was certainly the golden era...

for the Clemson rushing game. Tailbacks like Terry Allen, Kenny Flowers and Terence Flagler as well as fullbacks like Wesley McFadden, Tracy Johnson, and Chris Lancaster. ALL of these guys would run OVER you.

It's good to have a guy like Terry Allen back home and helping us make the most of our talents backs.

Agreed, TA was one of my favorites as well, and looks like

Wayne is turning into a punisher. Kevin Mack was another favorite.

Thanks.

So many great backs mentioned in this thread. An argument could made for any of them and it would be hard to disagree. It's just so refreshing to see our current RB's running with that old style attitude. Watching our backs is almost like taking a trip back in time to the 80's and early 90's.

A lot of credit has to go to TA for bringing back that mind-set.
