to use? (I don't know which players I was watching - couldn't hear their names.)

Player 1 did 12 - down slow, touch chest, press, lock elbows

Player 2 did 33 - dropped weight on chest, bounced it up and pressed, didn't lock elbows


It just seems like Player 1 could have done more if he had used Player 2's technique.

for combine the 'touch and go' is your best bet to get the most reps. Bouncing the weight is terrible form and can lead to injury though.

if you're at a sanctioned powerlifting meet you have to lower weight in controlled fashion, pause on your chest, and press in a controlled fashion/lockout the weight for it to count.

presses. I wonder why he did that? It seems like the bounce-off-the-chest method would get you more reps...
