Basketball facility survey ...

A) Build a brand new facility from the ground up with everything we want/need included?
B) Completely renovate all aspects of Littlejohn ... arena, practice facilities, coaches complex ... the works.
C) The arena itself is fine ... Only renovate the areas of Littlejohn that directly impact players and coaches.
D) Do nothing ... We just got finished renovating the whole place ... live with what we've got.
E) Other option? Describe

We tried "major" upgrades a decade ago. Seemed like an improvement, but turns out to be a waste of money. Can't polish a turd and expect it to be state of the art.
If they plan B or C I'd rather them do nothing and save money until A becomes more viable.

As a pitiful "white" level member, I don't pay Crump and B-Meist enough to qualify to do "polls" ... lol, neither do you come to think about it. "Student" designation is subsidized. Enjoy it for as long as it lasts!

the metal on the outside is rusting, the arena just needs updating, and the team needs a better practice facility.

A) What LJ needs cant be done with the existing skeleton.
LJ needs to be a 10k Facility with Luxury Suites for the big donors and player facilities that are unmatched anywhere in the nation.

See Auburn and the College of Charleston. New 9500 seat facility wiith adjacent practice courts etc would be great.

LJ is near dead last in the league when it comes to facilities.

most. Build the original planned annex for the players and the coaches. The size of LJ is perfect. It was sold out for the ACC games a few years ago when we were winning. I do not have a problem with LJ for games, but definitely need the practice facility along with eminities for the players (just like baseball needs right now).

Option C: IMO, a state of the art practice facility with player amenities/lounge, coaches offices, etc. would have the quickest and most significant impact on recruiting. I may be wrong, but just don't see the existence of much demand for luxury boxes in LJ or a new arena. Unlike football with tailgating, basketball events do not involve half day or whole day activities and the majority of folks aren't going to hang around socializing after a game ending at 9pm or later, especially on a weekday. So a luxury box wouldn't get much use for the money involved.

1. A 2. Build in the "pit" area in front of the baseball field. 3. Tear down Littlejohn and build a four story parking garage ---great for all sports parking
4. Build 8 boxes - four on each side that would hold 20 people each and cut back to 8000 for the rest of the arena. Take all seats to the floor level and have student section in the ends as now and up to 5000 allotted for students...have it set up so that they will be in the corners as well. Have all seating in a uniform cirle and not broken up like it is.
5 Then when the team is winning big all the ones that stayed home this year can wish they could get tickets.

I think they should build a new basketball arena on the west side of Lake Hartwell. (and consider doing the same thing with the baseball facilities)
That would give all the athletic programs more room to operate, allow each to customize their own facilities/operations based on each sport's specific needs, take better advantage of the scenic campus (possibly Clemson's greatest asset) and potentially give the football program an even better indoor facility. (by renovating Littlejohn)
If done right, that could give Clemson some of the best basketball, baseball & football facilities in the country, (IMO) while expanding the campus and integrating Lake Hartwell (an underutilized asset at the moment) into the campus more.

I'm not sure.
I am pretty sure that Clemson University owns more land than any other University in the country though. (thanks to Thomas Green Clemson's will) Clemson University is also fortunate to have a lake that is located on campus. Although it doesn't get used as the asset that it could become IMO. It also has a nicer campus than most schools. (again, an underutilized asset IMO)
I also think that expanding across the lake would be a smart move. (for many reasons)
