Basketball Clinic last night

We saw a clinic on how to defeat a 2-3 zone last night. The passing by the big men in the paint was outstanding. There were many 3 interior pass possessions in the 2nd half. With passing like that it was impossible (for practical purposes) for Cuse to react defensively. Yes the 3 point shooting helped, but some were wide open shots after a pass back out from inside. Only one player is given an assist on a play, but I can remember at least 3 times 2 players made passes that set up the shot attempt inside.

Very unselfish team play last night.

Everyone looks good if they make shots and that is the anecdote for a good zone defense. However, we've been beaten quite a few times on the road against the zone because we shot poorly.

We need to figure out how to fix this over these next 2 road games.

We need to get word to their coaches that they aren't playing the correct defense.

Only because Syracuse does not play tight perimeter defense - those teams that do beat us!

We made the necessary shots and it was a total team effort, but I think our consistency on defense
improve our patient attack on offense.
