Lee was cut lose because we have high expectations for baseball here at Clemson , , is basically hat was said by Neff. You can only conclude that we do NOT have high expectations in basketball and that is why Brad is still here

It’s ridiculous that you concluded that based on Neff’s basketball comments

and his actions since then.

Reading comprehension matters. Neff stated we had not properly supported the basketball program but that was going to change. Would he invest in a program if he did not expect it to improve?
My concern is if some of the IPTAY $$$ will be diverted to NIL and we have to find an extra half million for the baseball staff will he need to scale back the additional basketball funding? Can’t really blame him if he makes baseball the priority but I am hoping we can do both

I can blame him if he cuts basketball funding for baseball.

Basketball is a much more important sport in the grand scheme of college athletics. Our men’s basketball program makes money.
Baseball is less important, and it loses money.
So from a business perspective, it would be a poor decision.
Baseball is important to many Clemson fans, but I don’t think it’s as important to most Clemson fans as basketball is.

Personally I was disheartened by how many times Monte’s Tigers got blown out.
Blowouts are extremely rare under Brownell.
I understand that’s the nature of each sport, but to me it demonstrated how weak our pitching depth is, when all you need is one out or one strike to get out of an inning, and you haven’t helped your guys develop that ability.

Clemson fans love basketball. There are a few Clemson fans who are older than 25 years old and remember when ACC basketball was the best in the country. Clemson has never been a conference or a national champion in basketball, but when we've managed to put together a competitive program the fans have been there. I was there in the late 80's when we had real basketball teams that could play with anybody. Bring that level of play back and watch what happens at Littlejohn.
Unfortunately we've settled for mediocrity for so long that extreme apathy has set in. If we could manage to hire a coaching staff that could recruit and coach up talent well enough to make us competitive in the top third of the ACC, and get us to the NCAA tournament on a regular basis, you'd see that interest revive. It's been clear for many years that real success will be an extreme outlier with this coach. He's happy to bank a few $million while surviving season after season with no expectations to live up to.

Final 8 was a great year. It's not like it never happened before right? With then had coaches and players that had us in the thick of it, many years. We're more of a joke now. How that has been considered a success, without having different criteria, is beyond me. My father played in the world series, when he was playing baseball for Clemson. So yes, there is a tradition. But in a more important sport in college, I want the BB to be at that level as well.
