Bama Tiger's numbers obsession update

Dec 6, 2019, 9:22 AM

I've made a few posts about Trevor's performance by the numbers since the bad first quarter at Louisville. The Thanksgiving week was really busy for me, and I'm just getting a chance to update after the South Carolina game. Apologies if these have already been discussed.

Trevor's numbers since the first quarter at Louisville on October 19:

Passing:
112-147 (76.2%), 1560 yards, 19 touchdowns, 0 interceptions

Rushing:
41 carries, 228 yards (5.6 ypc), 2 touchdowns, 0 fumbles
(*I believe these stats are for net rushing yards, with sack yardage already deducted, but I'm not certain)

If Trevor had played the first 25 quarters of this season the same way he's played the last 23 quarters, he'd have over 3255 passing yards with 40 touchdowns and no interceptions at this point. He'd also have 475 rushing yards with 4 touchdowns and no fumbles. Joe Burrow might still win the Heisman in that alternate reality, but it would be a lot closer of a race.

Oh, and one more number in case it hasn't been brought up:
With the win last Saturday, Clemson won its 99th of the last 111 games. That dates back to the morning after the disastrous 2011 Orange Bowl loss to West Virginia. Since that game (and since the hire of Brent Venables), Clemson's winning percentage stands at exactly .900 today.

His passing numbers are incredible. You don't usually see a 76% completion rate for a team that goes deep as much as we do.
