Regardless, the Times-Picayune needs to send an investigative reporter to check the DA's office

Heavily weighted to them being on the football team.
True, it did happen in LA and not in AL, but I wonder what would have happened if the two players had been in med or law school instead of working and sweating on the football field.
Either way, I hope they have learned a lesson.

I actually was looking for the signs that I had been duped into a satire site posing as ESPN when I read that. I cannot imagine that a DA said that with a straight face and that folks (like his boss or folks in his district) didn't raise all sorts of hell about it.
Here's a note, mister DA, you are not ruining the lives of two folks who engaged in illegal behavior... they would be the ones doing that. I'm not arguing their lives should be "ruined" but it makes zero sense to argue that the system in place makes sense and is fair and then refuse to apply those rules to everyone.
