each season heck even in the acc he could do the same..but at notre dame with no conference title game he has to win out..if in the acc he would be playing a ranked pitt or wake team this weekend and would likely be in with a win

I was going on the assumption that ND would be in the ACC. I feel that being in a conference and taking the extra game that ND would have to do this Sat. that they would be ahead of Ala. Plus i don't care for the love affair the sports media has for the SEC.

The only argument for ND, ironically, is the eye test that everyone here hates. They've played an awful schedule but have been blowing everyone out since the loss to Cincy.
Bama at 3 is honestly fine. It will resolve itself on Saturday regardless. If they beat Georgia they deserve the 1 or 2 seed. If they lose they are almost certainly out.

I think the real rankings going into Saturday are:
1. UGA - lock win or lose
2. Michigan
3. Bama
4. Cincy
If any of 2, 3, and 4 win they are in.
5. OK ST - need one team above them to lose. (not named UGA)
6. ND - Need 2 teams to lose (and hope Baylor doesn't win in a blowout).
7. Baylor - need 3 teams above them to lose or two teams and win convincingly.
Every team outside the top 4 will be huge UGA fans on Saturday.

Notre Dame needs a conference to claim, and have attachment to with all of their college sports, and until they fully belong to a conference, they should never be allowed to play for a NC with schools that do belong to a conference, and it should be that way with every private school without a conference attachment with all their sports teams, PERIOD!!! No conference affiliation in the sport they would like to play for a championship in should never happen, never happen, should never ever happen!!!

a couple touchdowns! If they were to lose a really close one to UGA, especially if OkSt loses, I wouldn't put it past the committee to slide a 11-2 Bama into the 4 slot. I hate pulling for UGA, but I damm sure don't want to see UGA and Bama in the playoff!
With the possibilities now, I hope it's:
UGA
Mich
Cincy
OK St...although the committee will probably push them ahead of Cincy!
I hope Notre Dame finishes 5th, then let them chew on the fact that if they were in the ACC and won the ACC CG this year, during our down year, they would be in the playoff

That brings up another good question. If a number 3 gets beat by a number 1, why should they move down at all?
Hypothetically speaking, a number three should not move down because they lose to 2 or 1. They should only move down if they lose to a team below them.

If Clemson had to win the 4th over time against South Carolina,how far would they have dropped. It was not long ago that Clemson wins and still dropped. How good is Auburn- not they got beat by the dirt peckers, which is turn were slaughtered by the Clemson Tiger. Just my opinion.

They got screwed out of the BCS championship in 2012 for a SEC Bama / LSU rematch and now they could get screwed out of the CFP and its four teams for a similar reason with a winning Bama and 1-loss UGA. That would be a rough and ironic fate.

I think Bama at #3 is more a result of there really being no great teams this year aside from Georgia and maybe Michigan. Bama has its flaws, but when you take a deep dive to the teams behind them it's hard to find a team that should clearly be ahead of them.
I think the only 3 teams you could make an argument for are Cincy, ND, and Oklahoma State.
Cincy is unbeaten and has the win over ND, but the rest of their schedule is very weak and they hardly looked dominant in a few of those.
ND has the same record as Bama, and one could argue their loss to Cincy was against a better opponent than Bama's loss against A&M. It's hard to get excited about the rest of their schedule though. They have a 3 point win over FSU, a 3 point win over Toledo, and a 3 point win over VT to be included in their ugly wins when comparing them to close games Bama has played.
Then there's Oklahoma State that also has the same record as Bama. On one hand they have wins over Baylor and Oklahoma. Their loss is to a 7-5 Iowa State team which is a similar loss to Bama's loss against A&M. However, they have their own share of ugly wins. They only beat Missouri State by 7. They beat a 6-6 Tulsa team by 5 points and actually trailed that game early in the 4th. They also only beat a 7-5 Boise State team by 1 point.
I guess you could try and argue one of those teams over Bama, but I certainly don't think it's BS to have Bama where they are right now. I think this is a case that often happens when people get upset over rankings. We tend to look at one team and see the flaws in that team and conclude they must be overrated, but then we don't offer up a reason as to why a team ranked behind them should be ahead of them instead.

I expect all the calls to go Bama's way. The best chance for the SEC to get two teams in is for Bama to beat UGA. Kirby scares me. I believe UGA should win it (and I can't believe that I actually want them to to keep the SEC from getting two teams in), but I never underestimate Kirby's ability to Kirby. Rest assured, if UGA pulls off the W, I'm a Michingan/Cincinnatti/Okie State/??? fan for the CFPNCG.
