Baby Wearing, Strollers and Other Baby-Related DV Questions

Oct 30, 2016, 8:13 PM

My wife and I are bringing our 11 month old to her first game in DV this Saturday. So she has requested that I create a thread asking questions that she could not find the answer to on any of the other Clemson websites. Firstly, I know strollers were previously allowed and had to be checked when entering the gate. Is this still the case? Second of all, Could we bring her in a baby carrier? I looked around, but did not notice anyone wearing their baby at the games I have attended this season, so I was not sure if there was a rule against baby carriers. Finally, can we bring in food for the baby? I know outside food is generally not allowed, but I was not sure if an exception is made for babies.

Thank you for any help you can provide!

No on the strollers; I think you can "check" it and pick it up after the game though. Depends on what kind of carrier you have. I've seen many people with the harness like things (backwards backpack?). As for food, technically not allowed but you can get away with it.

Couple other things - you can't bring a diaper bag in, has to be in line with the clear bag policy. I recommend you get hearing protection for her, can get pretty loud.

1-800-Clemson can answer your questions officially though.

Anyone know if there are family bathrooms on the top deck home side?

I don't remember there being any family restrooms at either of the upper decks, but I could be wrong.

Personally- I would not bring a child that young to a game. An 11 month old will not enjoy it and neither will the parents. I have 3 kids that attend all home games- but they didn't go into the stadium until they were out of diapers.

that is a pretty round-about way to offer to babysit

In all seriousness, a lot of times a babysitter is not an option. We lug our 11 month old just about everywhere we go. As a new parent, sitting at home gets boring real fast.

ps. I couldn't agree more with the hearing protection suggestion. Toddlers ears are extra sensitive to hearing damage from loud noises.

We got the above earmuffs when our daughter was 3 months old. She has worn them a half dozen times or so when we've been in loud environments and she has yet to complain or try to take them off.

I will never get why people are dragging infants into games. It isn't a place for infants.

We've taken our almost 2 year old to 2 games this year

Oct 31, 2016, 9:10 AM

Strollers - They have to be checked a tthe gate. They will give you a claim tag. people seem pretty respectful of others stuff

Diaper bag - It will need to be a clear bag. in the 2 games, they didn't really check/hav issue with anything that we put in it. sippy cups snacks for him, etc.

Baby carrier -We also took an Ergo carrier. once he got a little tired, we strapped him in there and he napped some.

Noise - We have headphones for him for the noise. he doesn't like them on all the time though. I'm going to try ear plugs for this weekend

Other - we've noticed that they don't really check the stroller (we've gone in the gate 13 and gate 22). We accidentally took in a QT big Q drink in the cup holder and some bottles of water (they were unopened)

Bring your baby, my son came to his first game at 3 months, my youngest at 6 weeks. My niece was 9 months old when we started bringing her. They learn what they can and cannot do at the games and everyone around us was always helpful, also we never used anything for noise, it was never a problem, they actually slept through some very big games.
