Should give the team some motivation. We did just lose the greatest player to ever play here. A top 10 finish after losing Deshaun Watson would be a successful season.

Personally I believe it's because of the "Known Entity" as opposed to our "Unknown Entity."
My Coot fan friends (frenemies) like to spew verbal diarrhea like "things will be different without DW4 in the line up", and I like to remind them that we beat the Sooners 40 - 6 without DW4 in the line up, followed by "How many times have the Worm Pullers beaten the Sooners?"

I just can't believe most early Polls I have seen have Penn St and OK St in front of the Tigers.
Bama , OHio st I can see because of so much coming back and Maybe FSU.
But at the lowest the Tigers should be is 4 .

Not sure where everyone thinks OSU is bringing everyone back..Didn't they lose their entire secondary and also their best WR??? Agreed, they play in quite possibly the weakest conference, but come on already. I like it they always under rate Clemson.

but i think that might have been all they lost on the entire defense. On offense they lose their WR/RB hybrid Curtis Samuel, but just about everyone else comes back. I think they return something like 8 on each side of the ball, and they should have the 2nd best DL in the country behind ours.
If their new OC, Kevin Wilson, pans out i think they will be in the playoff and have a shot to win it. They couldn't throw down field last year and that killed them in some games, ours in particular. If they can fix that they will be very, very good.

In our game they also couldn't block , couldn't run the football and couldn't kick field goals .
They had a lot they couldn't do , scoring being one of them .

Fencebuster is an idiot. B1G was every bit as good as any conference in America. I know they didn't have a great bowl season this year, but had a great one the previous two years. To say they're weak is absurd if you actually watch college football. Take off your orange/ACC colored glasses man. Makes our forum look like bigger morons than you.
On the subject of this post, to unload the players we just did to the draft and still come back in the top ten pre-season is fine. We've got a ton to prove this year and likely will as per usual, overachieve and scilence critics. Go Tigers!!

I for one don't buy the hype, not one bit. I watched the Penn St QB throwing rainbow ducks up for grabs last year, or the OSU inability to complete a forrward pass. I watched a very good Michigan defense that had a pedestrian at best offense in a soft conference. Don't get me wrong, If OSU beats Oklahoma, I see them running the table with Kevin Wilson as the new OC, but the Big 10 is at best 3rd imo.

I say they're in a 3 way tie for 1st. Only the B1G, ACC, and SEC have made the playoff all theee years. All three have a couple elite teams at the top, a few mid range teams that win a solid amount, and some bottom feeders. The PAC12 with their inconsistency and failure to finish and the Big12 and their defense optional play are the subpar conferences IMO.

Part of the reason O31O will cake walk through to the finals.
Can't wait to see massively overrated Penn St. Go to the horse shoe and get exposed after they go undefeated thru their pre-season powerhouse schedule against Akron, Pitt, Georgia St., Iowa, Indiana, Northwestern... then Michigan/OSU/MichSt, before coasting again Rutgers, Nebraska, Maryland.
Seriously? That's 3 competitive games. 3.
The Big 0 is awful and was exposed with the 3-7 Bowl Record and their far and away best team O310 getting rolled by a REAL team.
The B1G is AWFUL.

You do know that Ohio State won the first playoff beating all three heisman funallist that year in 3 consecutive games, right? Then in 2015 they absolutely smoked the same Notre Dame team that we only by 2 IN the Valley! Let's not sound like fools here discrediting other successful teams and conferences because of one seasons bowl games. I for one am just going to enjoy this long off season as Natuonal Champs and keep the trash talk to a minimum. Go Tigers!!

OSU was literally 129 out of 129 last year in returning starters. They also made a significant upgrade at OC. They will be outstanding again.

behind OK ST, but there are a lot of good teams that return good QBs next year. Bama, Ohio State, FSU, Washington, USC, Penn State, Oklahoma...
With Watson, Williams, Scott, Gallman, and Leggett all gone it's easy to see how people could look at these other teams that all won 10+ games last year and all return good to outstanding QBs and put them ahead of Clemson.

I've been praying for somehow both Clemson and Florida State to come into our game together undefeated. Can you imagine? Potentially #1 vs. #2 in Death Valley, most likely at night, deciding the ACC Atlantic Champion and possibly the playoff contender? Wow, one can dream lol
