There are several Braves that are about to get paid- that’s why Atlanta has to be really careful on how they play free agency market. Don’t want to rock the boat with current players, or totally destroy farm system. If it ain’t broke- don’t fix it. DEFENDING WORLD CHAMPS

Seems like a good dude. And he is raking at a historic pace right now. Hopefully he is turning into a 30-40 homer .900 ops every year type of guy, like a top 5 or 10 hitter in the game because that’s what this contract says. He is amazing right now.

Main thing I worry about is acuna. Riley is basically getting double what acuna is, and olson gets more too. His dad made a comment on twitter last year about snit favoring the “white players” after snit called out acuna for doing something dumb on the bases. He needs to get going. Doesn’t seem happy and has a bit of an ego to battle, so i just hope that this huge riley deal doesn’t embitter him.

You are right about the contracts, too. Acuna is going to be more and more bitter about that with each passing year, unless some renegotiating is done. More likely, he will be traded at some point. Unless you are the Yankees, you can't afford for everyone on your team to be a $20 Mill a year man.

But acuna does seem to be hurt a lot. Not having albies around seems to make things harder for him too.

I’ve had the same thought about him ending up getting traded. Don’t want it but could see that happening when he gets a little nearer the end of his current deal.

Bigger question is what’s going to happen with dansby. Might sound crazy but he’s probably the tougher guy to replace. How about 6 years $160 for him?

Yea an ego and comments made like that from his pops is not good for team chemistry. If he is poison then I would move on.

Great player when healthy but there are a lot of players that could be negatively impacted by someone with an ego.

Do not know the guy but he has always gave off the vibe that “he is the man.” Even if you are no need to be sure everyone around you is reminded of it daily.
