"I've played multiple sports and would bet any amount that I'm still more athletic than you at this present time...."

I cannot imagine what it is costing these athletic depts to fund all sports. Add in current inflation cost and not sure how some schools make it. I do believe that most SEC schools have more sports than Clemson as well.

I’m sure I could be wrong I just thought I remembered a thread that SECmama mentioned about current national champs and I think someone said the SEC doesn’t do soccer.

A quick google search told me I was wrong, my apologies.

The SEC has womens soccer. Only a couple teams

Feb 10, 2022, 10:07 PM

Have mens and they compete in other leagues in that sport. UCS for example plays mens soccer in CUSA. Not sure where UK plays but they have a good program. We beat them in the sweet 16 this year.

Article says $54.6 million, not $77 million***

Most of those schools need that money to pay off their fired coaches.

Feb 10, 2022, 9:03 PM [ in reply to Article says $54.6 million, not $77 million*** ]

The SEC announced last May the decision to give its 14 member schools a financial boost in wake of those impacts, distributing $23 million of supplemental revenue to each school. The SEC said in a release at the time that its athletic departments averaged revenue shortfalls of $45 million during the 2020-21 fiscal year. Factor that in, and SEC member institutions received roughly $77 million in distribution money from the SEC in the latest fiscal year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Wrong...the $23 Million was for 2020. SEC education.***

Raising the question- what, in heaven’s name, are the chickies throwing away all that $$$ on? You would think they could manage to beat The Citadel with that kind of cash.

Facilities at Clemson are on par and better than most of the SEC but sustaining that over the next decade or two becomes a problem unless we tap into greater funding. I hope the proposed alliance with the Big and PAC morphs into a solution. This equality of Conference members needs to go away. Teams that have invested in football need to be able to keep more money.
