Are they realigning the conference

Aug 26, 2013, 11:36 PM

Divisions when Louisville officially joins ? Cause I'm assuming they won't just step in and take Maryland's place will they? I'm not sure it would make sense to have Clemson, fsu and Louisville in the same division. Talk about imbalance.

Anyone know the plan?

Louisville indeed will take Marylands place in the Atlantic Division

If things continue, that'll be one tough

Division. Ouch! I'm not sure u could call the ACC weak at that point. Would seem silly to even attempt to.

Sounds like the same thing when Miami, BC and VT joined

That move didn't turn the ACC into a power league.

Louisville will only be strong for as long as Charlie Strong stays at Louisville.

Hmmm! They were pretty good when Petrino was their. Funny

how people think when a coach leaves the program will fall back again. Just like people say SCAR will fall back when Spurrier leaves. Whats to stop Louisville or SCAR for that matter from hiring another good coach like Petrino, RichRod etc. Both programs have a history now of doing that instead of fooling around experimenting with unproven coaches.

tell me another 1 at usuc. holtz had that 0-21 remember.

until sos, that was considered a coaches graveyard, and if sos doesn't win soon, it may still be.

There were rumors that Georgia Tech would move to the atlantic and louisville would join the coastal. cross division rivals would be clemson-louisville and georgia tech-virginia. The ACC's stance has not changed that Louisville would simply take Maryland's place and their cross division rival would be Virginia.

I don't see Louisville staying that good in football for very long. If you were to switch them out with some team from the coastal besides Duke that team could easily have some up years while Louisville has some down years. Kind of like when they put the ACC championship in Florida assuming it would be FSU/Miami every year.

Actually that's exactly what they're doing

It wouldn't surprise me to see one or two teams flip divisions after a few years, but wholesale realignment? Nope.
