Arch Manning

Feb 4, 2022, 3:10 PM

24/7 has a article that says he has removed us from consideration, guess we are all in on the QB from Alabama.Go Tigers!

Our focus is now on Chris Vizzina***

Manning was ranked the #2 QB by one of the services. He doesn't want to compete with the #1 ranked QB of the current class. OK. I could be wrong about the competition, but it's a thought.

I bet that you're as close to being right, as right can get!!! He's a kid that is use to everything being give to him, and one that has always been told that he was great at whatever he done!!!!

Do you have any evidence to support that claim?

Kinda wished he would have strung us along

Feb 4, 2022, 3:34 PM

So we can get a fallback 2 star Hunter Renfrow type player at QB

Feb 4, 2022, 3:40 PM

We signed a pretty good HS QB in December, got a transfer who beamed in out of the portal, and signed another pretty good HS QB on Tuesday. Manning would be like sixth or seventh on the depth chart here, so I don't blame him for trying to find a school that's a better fit with an open spot on their roster. ;)

Re: Arch Manning

Feb 4, 2022, 6:44 PM

Come on fellows. Now we never liked him anyway. Now, it is true we have a deep QB room. It is also true it ain't very wide. Some of those kids you are counting on will never see the field, Johnson included. We had him once, remember?) Only people off the Clemson campus think the West Texas Gunslinger will play much as a freshman. Manning won't be 4th or 5th on any depth chart, nary a one. It is closer to the truth to say Clemson and Manning gave up on each other at the same time. It is also true that there are at least two QBs in the '23 cycle better than Manning and it has been noted we are pursuing one of those.

Mannng? I'd bet on Georgia.

The tipoff should have been Dabo and Streeter grabbing a jet and "scouting" Clubnik from the sidelines in December. By the time they got back to Clemson Clubnik had been elevated to god-like status, another Lawrence. Guess what? That wasn't scouting. That was recruiting. Now they have to undo the accolades and bring him to earth.

Feb 4, 2022, 7:31 PM [ in reply to Re: Arch Manning ]

Lol out loud.

Let me get this straight because you might be joking. You think Arch Manning would be behind Hunter Johnson (who is only here for depth and won’t even be here when Manning comes), Billy Wiles (walk on), Will Taylor, Trent spearman (walk on), DJ, and Klubnik?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Arch Manning

Feb 4, 2022, 8:30 PM

I was not clear obvously. Mannning would never fall that deep on any chart, including the Green Bay Packers. That was in response to another post saying he would be no higher. So it seems we are in agreement.

Nah, he wasn't leaving the ACC. Just glad the family acknowledged us. Seriously wonder if it wasn't mutual. Dabo calls the shots, not Archie or Payton or Eli.

I really thought he loved Dabo and enjoyed his visit. Figured we would have been in his top 3.

Re: Arch Manning

Feb 4, 2022, 7:23 PM

Trevor did… Hunter was the top QB in his class.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Arch Manning

Feb 4, 2022, 4:32 PM

He’s kind of slight, and definitely doesn’t squat or deadlift. He looks to have weak and thin wrists as well. He’s not going to be a Trevor like QB, good, but not generational. Trevor had a good build for a kid his size, at 6’6, he had solid biceps, side and front delt development. Arch would thrive most at Bama or Ole Miss, being surrounded by superior skill players or scheme (Miss). Good luck to the kid, but if he ain’t a Clemson man, I don’t care where he goes.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Glad he removed us.

I definitely agree on the circus. Gets old. I’m thinking if I’m in there shoes there will be very few that would know my possible choices and when I knew then I’m going to let the coach know then I’m done. No more trips and no more calls.

Can you imagine the phone calls or personal visits from Peyton or Eli if Arch got benched. Not to mention the drama with the NIL money. Glad he dropped us. He is a prima donna riding on the coattails of his relatives. Just my opinion.

Re: Why did anyone ever believe he was really considering Clemson?

Feb 4, 2022, 10:34 PM

I think we had very little chance and really it would be a circus with all the family members involved. I’m happy with who we got this year (Cade). We’ll be just fine. I hope Arch goes ANYWHERE but Georgia!

Re: Arch Manning

Feb 5, 2022, 6:04 AM

I always thought there were 4 schools he was most interested in, and Clemson was one of them. Apparently I was wrong. As to where he goes, as long as it's not our main rival ,UGA, in terms of recruiting it really does not matter.
Sure we could face him again in a Bowl game, or even a CFP game but I would think the majority of T-Neters would rather he go to Alabama than Georgia.
Thing is I personally don't think it will be either of those schools. My take now is most likely Ole Miss LSU or maybe Tennessee.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He will go to highest bidder, and we can’t pay what other schools can

Feb 5, 2022, 7:27 AM

Been saying this all along

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: He will go to highest bidder, and we can’t pay what other schools can

Feb 5, 2022, 7:58 AM

My thoughts are the same as leftie. He was never going to come here plus we DO NOT NEED THE DRAMA he will bring. The whole focus would have been him and just think of the teams that will “pin their ears back” and go after him. He will need a OL that is built like “Sherman Tanks” to protect him and my final thought is, just because he is a Manning, will that mean he is good as his predecessors? We will be fine…..

GO TIGERS!!!!!!

Goodness you guys are quick to crap on a Kid when he doesn’t choose Clemson. Would be a completely different thread if you were still in the running. Should rename this the sore loser board.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

ARCH is from a dynasty QB family but maybe built up a bit..

Feb 5, 2022, 11:10 AM [ in reply to Re: He will go to highest bidder, and we can’t pay what other schools can ]

and as race horses go we know many descendants of a great racer (like: Man of War) don’t pan out brilliantly.

Not saying that, but ARCH isn’t the 1st coming of college QB’s and Clemson will survive just fine with Cade & others.
