Thats very sad and my prayers go out to her family. No parent should have to bury their child! I hope they find who did this and bring them to justice for this horrible act! Prayers for the family.

there was word from her father that his daughter had died, with no other details from law enforcement. Just terrible, as she was going to graduate in May, and was already accepted to Law School at Drexel.
I've lived in the midlands since 1991 (Lexington), and even as a grown man Five Points can be intimidating. As a adult male, you can expect at least one person asking you for money for every block you walk in Five Points in the evening.
I've said for decades, Five Points has some very sketchy areas right on its door step. It is not a safe place for a girl to be by herself at night.

I couldn't be happier. She called a month and a half or so ago. We went to the range and shot many different guns. We found one for her and she goes to the range every couple of days or so. She is getting a purse with a center pouch. If the situation turns dangerous, hand slides in purse and onto weapon and shoot right through the end of the purse if needed.

She disappeared from in front of "BirdDog's" which has numerous cameras and (oddly) is one of the safest bars for a young lady to be in, in 5 Points. Their staff are very protective and regularly toss male patrons for any kind of rough approach to females. I know because my daughter has been there many times and considers it safe. My prayers go out to the family and God help the killer if one of us with children who go to 5 Points catch him before the cops(or some of the guys from BirdDog's who probably knew her).

In Atlanta. 5 points has been targeted by criminals for years and it's where college kids hang out.
I dont think any college girls are going down to Bankhead walking around in high crime areas in ATL.

WIS just showed a Columbia PD press conference. He was apprehended around 3 AM today. So barely a day after the fact. Dumped her body an hour from Columbia in a field. Found by turkey hunters. I hate he was ever arrested. Was pulling for a bullet to his head. I have two teenage daughters and these kinda pigs sicken me.

I disagree. Every killer needs to live on death row for about 15 years before they are killed. Death row is not like general population, it's Hell on Earth.

I doubt the killer's original intent was murder. It was more than likely a rape attempt that escalated.

Terrible thing. Law enforcement is so close to the vest I fear it may be horrific, as if her murder were not bad enough. Hope they catch the scum soon, I'm sure the campus is on edge.

When I heard the "suspect" was driving an Impala, I told my wife, "That pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the suspect, and it likely narrows the search to about 7% of the population of SC. Police shouldn't waste time looking at the other 93%." GOD … I hate stereotyping people, but it proves to be true most of the time. Sorry!
