Apparently, there's a rumor Tony Steward may start at LB...

I'm not buying it because he didn't even play last week at LB. Seems weird that you would go from not playing to starting.
Also, Tig is our best LB so no chance he starts over Tig. Shuey's not sitting the bench after his latest performances. And Steward doesn't strike me as a SAM even though Christian has had struggles.
It'd be cool to see him out there. Looked pretty decent the few times we've seen him.

So he has the speed and cover skills of a MLB. Don't know how much of that is still not trusting reconstructed knees. 12 is much more athletic right now. Give 7 a shot at Mike mixing snaps with Shuey and let 12 roam Sam, Tig at Will

It's on the insiders board. It is unsure what position he will be playing or for how many snaps. It is also been rumored that it is just a glorified start because of his fumble recovery and work on special teams, still will not play much. Again, this is just what I have been hearing.

Might be going to a 3-4 D to get more of the best players at LB on the field
Last week VT game the D played very good with a 3-4 D

are twiners in the 285 range who could play DE in a 3-4, and it could fix some of the 4-3 DE problems.....

Awesome. Someone who understands 3-4 personnel. All too often, you hear people just say "lets run the 3-4" without acknowledging that the personnel skillsets/groupings are different.
I could see a:
Beasley------------Anthony-----------Steward------------------Willard
--------Jarret-------------Reader--------------Williams/Goodman
or
Willard------------Anthony--------------Shuey------------------Steward

would be solid as 3-4 DE's. Watson is a little more athletic than Williams and Jarrett and Barnes just made the move from DT to DE. Both have the size to hold the edge and consume blocks and free up OLB's to get to the QB

I agree. I just had Jarrett and Williams in there because they've got most of the snaps this year at DT. Watson would be a good option because he's pretty disruptive and would definitely require 2 blockers if he lined up as a 4 or 5 technique.
Barnes and Goodman would be pretty good options because they have the weight, and even though your 3-4 DE's are bigger, you still like them to be tall and have some length.

We are not mid-season switching to a 3-4. Stop with that nonsense. You don't just magically go from a 4-2-5 to a 3-4-4, especially when you are showing improvement. Come on guys
