These games tell us absolutely nothing about how the season is going to go, unless there are glaring weaknesses. Indiana walking and hitting 79 batters and the runs that come from them don’t help us when we play real teams. It’s like when Clemson plays SC St in football. It’s meaningless in every way but one.

Indiana has made the NCAA tourney less times than Clemson has been to Omaha. It is completely apt.

I would agree if we were blowing out Winthrop, but beating a Power 5 opponent from the big 10 is at the very least respectable. Also, to come back and score 19 runs after being down by 4 after two innings... that would not have happened last year.. Just saying... You are correct that two games does not make a season, but we are seeing improvement from hitting and pitching. We even executed a sacrifice bunt to move the runners over, which I don't think was ever done successfully last year. From the sample size we have seen.. it is ok to be excited.

We did indeed score 19 unanswered runs after spotting them a 4-0 lead, but there were 14 walks propelling that “offensive explosion”.
I agree that winning big in the season opening series against D-1 opposition is great and much better than losing, but these first games and the scores may prove deceptive.
We’ll see ... Go Tigers!

Yep but in football we finished 10-3 and won our bowl game and finished in top 15. You can’t compare that to finishing in last place of ACC when there is only one top 25 school in the conference Willis.

I have to say. I don't follow basketball, and injuries may have been an issue this year. However, Clemson basketball has been horrible under Brownell with no flashes of greatness. You can say Clemson baseball has not lived up to its billing under Monte and that would be fair, but he did win an ACC championship. Brownell's on the court coaching from all accounts has just been bad. In my unqualified opinion he needs to be replaced at this point. If you think he should remain, answer one question. Who could Clemson hire that could do worse than Brownell has done? I don't think there are very many.

It's a great start, but there's still the whole season to go. I'm rooting for this team though we'll see how far they can go.
