I respect his decision. He was obviously in pain.

but just watching him yesterday, you could see his issues. He was layered up to try to keep his back warm, like four layers of vests, etc.

I am a Tiger fan on the course. His efforts to work his way back are commendable. My issue is the way ESPN and CBS have inundated us with Tiger. Every shot. Every wince of pain. Got it. He is the man. But as a golf nerd I would like to see others (from the top of the leader board to the bottom). Just sayin’.
Oh…….and Curtis Strange is a putz.

on the Golf Channel. To your point, the scores would continously scroll through one by one: 1. Player Name 2. Player Name T3. Player Name T3. Player Name 76. Tiger Woods 1. Player Name 2. Player Name . . .
Just had to LOL when I saw this.

Curtis Strange is the glass is not only half empty person, but empty. He has the demeanor of a man sucking on rancid lemons continuously.
He makes Johnny Miller look like a cheerful homer.
Surely, someone more upbeat is available.

Not trying to bash a legend and great talent but there seems to be something just under the surface regarding Tiger. Early on it was rumored steroids and other performance enhancing substances. Later it was pain pills and sleeping pills. Some indication it was this combination that was a factor in his most recent car accident and previous auto incidents _ asleep at a stoplight etc.
Seems his body has been through a lot with normal training, injuries and recovery cycles. I wonder if retirement and moving on to another phase of life is best. Memories of the old Tiger are better than the current saga.

quelled by retirement. He thinks he can come back and perform well enough to win, I doubt it, but I would have counted him out before he wan the Masters a few years ago.
I do not see him as trying to compete a negative on his career yet, but if he does not play better, he should quit. Let's see how he does on a flat course like St Andrews.

Maybe there’s something left for other tournaments but the withdrawal card has been played.
