Anyone watch the Arrington/Mace debate last night

The other chick dropped out when she got the first question.
Katie Arrington is loopy. She is still preaching the Trump stolen election thing.
Nancy Mace reminds me of the girl you caught cheating who won't tell you the truth, and just redirects and lies.
same old, same old I guess.

I’ll take Arrington. I don’t trust Mace as her ads don’t reflect her passions over the last 2 years.

The car crash broke Katie Arrington’s brain I’m afraid. It’s a shame Joe Cunningham was unseated by the Berkeley County riffraff, he was objectively a good congressman, regardless of party.

I've thought for awhile it was inevitable that the so-called "RINO's" were going to cross the party line and settle into the Dem party as a Conservative Democrat caucus. (They're already there, see Kyrsten Sinema, Joe Manchin, and most of the so-called "Problem Solvers" Caucus).
The GOP has hit a terminus, IMHO, and those only end one way. The party is just too malignant, has metastasized too much around a dangerously spiraling and self-reinforcing Fascist wing that has no mechanism for self-correction, and drives anybody remotely interesting in actual governance or even having actual conversations right out of the party. Witness the exchanges you've been having with our own resident MAGA tribals. They're the Barbarian Horde, they really are.
When things like that break, they break all the way.
The Dems just need to show minimal awareness - always an open question! - and stick out their butterfly net. It's right there; they just need to rebrand from the "Democratic Party" to the "Democracy Coalition", and allow in actual conservatives-who-believe-in-democracy into their ever-growing Big Tent. Mind, this could well push the Bernie Bros on the far left out, since the far-leftist SJW's don't really believe in actual democracy or free speech either, but at the end of the day the disenfranchised middle - which represents something like a whopping 41 per cent of the electorate now - is a lot more important than the far left anyhow. If the Bernie Bros want to decamp and peel off from the Dems because they don't wanna associate with the likes of Cheney and Kinzinger and Mittens, Oh Well.
I think it'll happen. All these RINO's like Tim Ryan, Mark Sanford, and even Mike Pence who are getting driven out of the GOP are not going to stay quietly home and sit in their living rooms while MAGA runs ape in their front yard.

Fringe Democrats are just as out there as Fringe Republicans, and they're just as nasty.
I agree that the party that first tones down the crazy will be the one to reap the rewards, but nothing I've seen says Democrats are close to doing that.

I think you're conflating some groups that really don't belong together.
Biden and his gang are just center-left liberals. I don't particularly agree with their policies but they are not the same party (at least not in most countries) as the Bernie Bro type socialists. Here they're just sort of mashed together because of our two-party setup.
Bernie Bros/SJW's are a different breed. Bernie had himself one mother of a mean follower problem. Those are the kind of folks who like to hang out in classrooms and start taking phone video when somebody disagrees with leftist orthodoxy, and screech and intimidate them into silence.
The Dems aren't really a party so much as an ad hoc coalition of a bunch of different caucuses and identity-politics group, a Big Tent that can't decide whether to go left or go right and so ends up usually just milling around incoherently, which is why they're such an incoherent mishmash of policies and often contradictory viewpoints that don't really form any kind of whole.
They'd be even more so if they absorb the center-right - which if the GOP keeps kicking the center-right out and tries to be a party of Keowees and CharlestonToms is going to happen - but at the same time that would probably drive the SJW's out as well. I've seen a lot of predictors in the past that the Dems were probably going to be a center-left-to-center-right party with the fringes relegated back to the fringes.
Folks tend to seek stability, and what the extremes on either side are selling is just idiocy.

She's smarter. Stronger. And has positions that more closely reflect the district, which not too long ago was D represented.

the only one on stage that had her top secret clearance revoked. Arrington went into full crazy mode with "It was a political hit job!"
Arrington had already lost me earlier when she said that Mace was the reason we have Biden because she "voted to certify the stolen election results". What a kook.
It'd be pretty easy to beat Arrington on a debate; just get her rattled and she sink herself with her crazy conspiracy theories. Thats what Cunningham did--he just let her talk.

Turned on Trumpism following the Jan. 6 debacle. She was even quoted as sending her children home before the vote simply because she was getting frightened by the rhetoric she heard leading up to the attempted coup that you all know was an attempted coup.
Pretty bad when a Trump ally sends her family packing before this vote because she was scared.
Also, today's Trumpists would have attacked the hell outta Mace circa 1996 for going to the Citadel if she went back then.

a co-ed college. There are plenty of all womens colleges, and I'm not sure it hurts to have an all male school. I have no dog in that because I would have never gone there to begin with, but Shannon Faulkner lied by omission on her application for what I'm sure was to make a name for herself.

I remember the Faulkner years well. The divide between for and against absolutely wasn’t partisan.
