Anyone else think last year's team would've

Jan 18, 2020, 8:57 AM

Crushed lsu? I do. We would have gotten to burrow with the dline.

Also, mark fields, say what you want, but he didn't let anyone catch a pass on him all his career at Clemson. Interference or not.

No doubt in my mind it'd been a very similar outcome as the Bama game. Forget about him running 30 yards downfield.

Losing CW was almost equal

Jan 18, 2020, 9:12 AM

To losing DW4. I've never seen a guy be so intimidating and disruptive on the field. Whoever was assigned to block him never finished the game I'm sure if you were to go back and look.

And the love he had for Clemson, his teammates was spectacular to witness. I think CW was the kind of guy who would suffer for his friends.

CW was almost like having 11 1/2 players on defense.

Not trying to pop that bubble but would Jeff Scott hv flown the coop before that one?

Dude this got

Jan 18, 2020, 9:26 AM

Nothing to do with Jeff Scott. It's about the personnel we had last year on defense as opposed to this year's 3 man front, that looked just as effective, if not better statistically this year.

They were not better. Isaiah Simmons is 50% the reason of that.

Sacks from blitz are always risky and are especially in today's game. You've basically left someone uncovered or given responsibility to another player that is a mismatch. Simmons HAS to make it to the qb or something bad gonna happen.

Last year we let Simmons play more in the safety spot and boy were we good then.

We didn't even need to blitz because the opposing online was getting punished by our dline, which rattles QBs bc the biggest men they play with that protect them are obviously not going to be able to take much more.

2018 year's team. = #1 BEST EVER

We would have won for sure imo.

Bama’s secondary last year was absolute trash compared to what LSU rolled out there Monday night. We still had to find more than 25 points but if we had last years Trevor, Tee and Ross maybe we get to 31 or 35.

Exactly this. We lived off third down last year when Ross and Higgins could make plays (10-15 on 3rd down). This year we were like 1-11 trying to do the same things.

I hate to admit it, but last year’s team would have been crushed too!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

and you got shut out by Bama last year corndog.

Jan 19, 2020, 1:29 AM

This years defense had Burrow flustered early, but it would have been all night and a very rough night for him if the best DL in years were available.

You corndogs have a weak trolling game. You need a life.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

overall the 2018 team was better. the defense truly

Jan 19, 2020, 1:23 AM

did miss the playmakers and leaders we had last year. I dont know that I've ever seen a team lose its entire starting DL to the NFL. Wilkins, Lawrence, Ferrell, and Bryant could take over a game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah Trevor was much better last year too!***
