Anymore questions about win and you're in?

Nov 1, 2022, 8:04 PM

Please stop listening to the talking heads. There is a reason we don't use the AP poll to decide National Championships anymore.

Really?

Reading what the committee is using, we can drop next week if our conference continues to slide.

ND wins are worth 1.5 SEC wins.***

It's an unlikely scenario, but if TN loses by a point AT UGA

Nov 1, 2022, 8:21 PM

they would probably stay ahead of us in the polls. Then, if we keep muddling along against unranked teams and TCU starts decisively winning, or if Mich squeeks by Oh St, it is conceivable we could drop to fifth! Or if Bama wins the SEC CG in a close one over the TN/UGA winner!

But...all we need to worry about now is beating Notre Dame Saturday! Then, hopefully we'll keep winning and everything will take care of itself!

LOL

Nov 1, 2022, 8:28 PM

You're the kind the OP was aiming at & still not bright enough to understand.

Clemson will not drop as long as they win. The LOSER of the UGA/Rocky Top game will drop, if they don't drop out of the top 4, they will Conference Championship Weekend ,PROVIDED others ,like Clemson.TCU and others keep winning.

The SEC runners up have needed help every time that they've gotten in.

I'm bright enough to understand that, at this point, there

Nov 1, 2022, 9:36 PM

are still plenty of scenarios...some more likely than others. I hope we don't drop, if we continue to win! But, it has happened before! In fact, in the very first year of the CFP, TCU was 3rd going into the last week, won big and dropped all the way to 6th, I think it was.

So, oh bright one, it CAN happen!

Re: I'm bright enough to understand that, at this point, there

That's exactly what happened. All anyone needs to read is David Hood's latest article. That explains all we're saying. Wake plays NC State so one will NOT be ranked next Tuesday. Cuse plays at Pitt, that could knock Cuse out. All of a sudden, we have one ranked win. SCar could lose the rest of their games.

Baylor was another team that had a good case. It's very easy to see 2 SEC teams in... Conference winner or not. Very concievable to have TCU a 13-0 conference winner. The B1G conference champ is in. Say we win out and 13-0 conference champ. Then it's between us and TCU.

I, nor you I don't think are stating facts, just possible scenarios because many posters have posted it doesn't matter what our conference or scheduled foes do. But it does matter.

Most of the last decade, we had a big quality win over an SEC opponent and then another SEC ooc opponent in SCar. We don't this year.

You are wrong. Again. Welcome to reality. Win and we are

Nov 1, 2022, 10:27 PM

in. How dense can you be? This is common knowledge. You make Clemson fans look very uneducated.

B12 didn’t have a conf championship game

Nov 1, 2022, 10:11 PM [ in reply to I'm bright enough to understand that, at this point, there ]

TCU had a loss and was designated a co champ of their conf. Meanwhile OSU went out and won a 12th game /conf champ by a score of 59-0 that last weekend. OSU also proved to the committee that they could win with their 3rd string qb.

OSU proceeded to win the NC so it was quite clear they belonged there.

Not too bright when U double down on the STUPID

God help some of you people.

Why is this so complicated. Its like some of our fans...

No ... no questions at all. If the CFP wanted to “ding” us

Nov 1, 2022, 8:44 PM

... THIS was the week they would have done it.

The fact that they didn’t penalize us (with all our perceived shortcomings) tells us all we need to know about where they see an unbeaten ACC Champion in the CFP.

Re: No ... no questions at all. If the CFP wanted to “ding” us

Nov 1, 2022, 10:11 PM

Not true. Read what they're saying the metrics are. They repeatedly said at this moment in time. Wake state SCar and Cuse keep losing, those metrics change. A one loss uga non conference champ CAN still get in and knock out a conference champ. Whether that champ is us or TCU, it's happened b4.

Please don't make Clemson fans look ignorant. You are wrong.

Nov 1, 2022, 10:29 PM

13-0 Clemson is in. Its sooo simple but you seem so simple minded.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

IT'S NEVER Happened before

Nov 1, 2022, 10:39 PM [ in reply to Re: No ... no questions at all. If the CFP wanted to “ding” us ]

At this point in time , no Undefeated or one loss(12-1) Conference Champ has ever been left out ....

Nov 1, 2022, 9:21 PM

So son . . you can logically see no way an undefeated Clemson is left out? smh

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No...There is zero possibility if we win out...

Nov 1, 2022, 10:31 PM

This is common knowledge among anyone that follows College Football and doesn't just repeat what Fox and ESPN talking heads want to happen. Sheeple.
