Anybody's kid heard back yet from early admission 12/1 ?

Dec 1, 2022, 2:09 PM

Early admission decision is today. Has anyone's kid heard back yet? For me 12/1 is 1 minute after midnight last night, but I guess this stuff doesn't work that way.

Not yet. We toured a few weeks back and they said it would be late in the day

My twins were both accepted, I suspect because they are serious long-term legacies. They were waitlisted by Chapel Hill, Georgia, and South Carolina. The UNCCH and UGA I get, tough schools but USCjr is probably because of the major they applied for. No way it's harder to get in USCjr than Clemson.

Legacies mean very little in today’s world. Most schools, not all, give more weight to the child if he or she comes from a family that has never sent someone to college.

The usc jr shocks me. I literally know of no one who did not get in the South Carolina who got into Clemson. Know alot of others who got into USC jr but got rejected or bridged at Clemson

Speaking of Bridge, it is what a student makes of it. Last spring I looked up ten sophomores from my daughter's high school class when the Dean's List and President's List were posted. Four bridge admissions and four direct admissions made one or the other of those lists. Obviously that's not a scientific sampling, just kids I happen to know, but it indicates that the bridge kids were adequately prepared for Clemson classes. If any of you have kids who are offered bridge, encourage them to accept if they really want to be a Tiger!

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Yeah, I heard all of the acceptance letters are already out.***

My daughter was accepted today. Very proud of her. Although I wasn’t able to attend Clemson due to various reasons I couldn’t be happier for her
