Anybody read HD's take on the Orange Bowl win by FSU?

Were it not for the final score, you'd think FSU got demolished by Northern Illinois. It kills me that she's the one writing about our conference. In just over 48 hours, the ACC trounced the preseason #1 team, manhandled an SEC powerhouse, and earned a rare BCS bowl win against a determined, Cinderella-minded team. We've looked pretty dang competitive.
I haven't been very happy with the quality of the ACC myself, but our conference blogger beats any one of us.

Agreed about them not being #1. Preseason top-15

yep and I think a healthy Barkley and they would have played about there. I liked seeing them have a bad year as I dislike Kiff and have no respect for him as a coach.

She's right. FSU should have trounced them.***

It was disappointing

Particularly on offense. FSU just really didn't get it done until the second halve, when their depth was just too much for NIU. They just had a few more athletes.
NIU vs. FSU's starters were surprisingly evenly matched on that particular day. That IS disappointing.

FSU's defensive line made NIU's offensive linemen look like high-schoolers.

to gain about 90lbs the first time she gets a steady bangin. Her opinion is valueless.

so the weight/steady bangin thing might be a little off target.
She's a pretty uninspired sportswriter though, that's for sure.

Actually beat 2 preseason #1 teams. USC was ranked #1 by the AP, but LSU was ranked #1 by USA Today.

No one is harder on the ACC than HD.

It's almost like she should be the SEC blogger. There's so rarely anything that any school in the ACC does well according to her.
I get it. The ACC as a conference in football has pretty much stunk it up. Unfortunately, her blogs have just overexploited this. Instead of reporting on what's happening in the ACC, she just takes cheap shot after cheap shot.
FSU couldn't help the matchup. They won. NIU isn't Alabama (or LSU) but they might be, say, Michigan this year.
They did what they were asked to do. They won the game. They wore down NIU (as expected) and won the game.
It's sad that she felt it necessary to trash them (even in our favor) for not winning by 50. They did cover the spread handily.
I enjoyed her fresh perspective the first couple of years (and actually caught some hell for it on this site), but have only sporadically checked in to the blog since then. She doesn't have to be a "yes-lady" for me to read it, but it's getting to be a tired act now.
