It’s actually a funny and interesting story behind that song.

Originally it wasn’t Bruce. I forget exactly what he was singing originally, but everyone heard Bruce. After a while Jeff Lynne himself started singing it as Bruce. He thought it was funny and has gone along with it for decades.
There’s a great YouTube channel called the professor of rock. He’s really really killer and knows his music history and actually interviews a lot of singers and bands. He did an episode on this song and talked about the original lyric and how it got misinterpreted and how Jeff Lynne ended up thinking it was funny and started singing it as Bruce.

Roger that MOAB!

Great band moab®! Jeff Lynne is certainly an all-time great! They really have had a recent renaissance with great Michelob Ultra Super Bowl commercial ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rcw6GdCQC8
Some of you may know Jeff Lynne was very close with George Harrison, and was in The Traveling Wilbury's with Harrison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, and Roy Orbison. Lynne produced and arranged music for Harrison, Petty and others. He also produced Lennon-written Free as a Bird & Real Love which Yoko gave P. McCartney at his request and McCartney/Harrison/Ringo added instruments and vocals. Lynne gave some great performances at "Tribute to George" concert in Royal Albert Hall with Eric Clapton and many other greats ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_gOpk0KhUY
One final nugget, Paul McCartney, in friendly fashion, accused Lynne of stealing a guitar riff from "Day in The Life" for his hit "Mr. Blue Sky". Listen to the opening chords of Mr. Blue Sky and compare them to the chord(s) that open up the "woke up/got out of bed/dragged a comb/across my head" section of Day in The Life. I think McCartney makes a fair point. Anyway, I love good music, and Lynne is a master.

Jeff Lynn often wrote produced arranged played and recorded everything by himself. The band was more for touring.

I tend to like the "haunting" ELO toons, like "Can't Get It

Out of My Head", or "Telephone Line". And of course, who doesn't like "Eeeevil WOman". One of the most instantly recognizable openings of any song in history.

I think I wore out my ELO 8-Tracks! So many hits!
Fire on High is a kick ### instrumental. Was used by CBS sports as their intro song for a number of years...really cool. Can't remember what years though. Late '70s for sure.

This was a performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, George Harrison's son and Prince. Fantastic song and cover! The last minute of the video Prince steals the show.
