Sure ... we all want TP to be healthy (a good kid whose working hard).

But as long as DJ can hobble around out there, then even a healthy TP won't see the field unless either (a) Clemson is winning a true blowout (i.e., up 35 points going into the 4th Qtr) or (b) Wake is winning in a blowout (i.e., Wake is up by 21+ points with 5 minutes to go in the game).

TP simply does not possess the skills at QB to either protect a modest lead or to bring us back from a modest deficit. DJ, like him or not, is by far our only chance for a "W" against Wake.

TP looked right sharp driving us down the field yesterday for a TD when we had been unable.to push it in (with regular offensive plays) up to that point. TP brought something DJ couldn't, and that was the ability to run and make the defense have to make decisions. He reminded me of Kelly Bryant on the TD. And while KB was not "great", he would have flat worn out that UConn team from the start.

Should TP start against Wake? Probably not. Should he play? Absolutely. On his best day DJ cannot run like TP. And TP can probably throw as good as DJ when DJ is off, like yesterday.

I wouldn’t believe it if something were out there. Our staff keeps a tight hold on that info unless it’s an out for the season type injury.
