Dabo need to treat this game as a loss for defensive side

Sep 9, 2012, 1:33 AM

he need to tell his D they lost instead of all well that ends well. This is a losing performance against teams we will soon face n thats how he should treat his defensive players.

Saban doesn't high five his D for being average to good, if they don't play stellar he lets them have it no matter however many points Bama wins by. Thats y even their backups play with full intensity in cupcake games

I think Alabama's backups

are on a completely different level than most of our backups right now.

But thats slowly changing with great recruiting

agree, not a lot of quality depth on this D just yet.

We kinda got spoiled with the corners that left the program 2 and 3 years ago, and our dline is promising, but very young.

another guy with his heaf under sand and happy with being mediocre

Sep 9, 2012, 2:00 AM

We should never tolerate mediocrity in anything or we will become just like coots. We have a problem in defense and teams like GT will chew us up if we keep thinking our D is better than it looks, Coach Dabo would know better than that.

I would not give up these guys just yet, but RBs breaking through the LOS untouched is a little unnerving and there are definite issues in the secondary.

Clemson only played the first half! Dabo allowed the guys to play who never get in a ballgame, but work their tail off in support of the team. The second half was like a controlled scrimmage. Saban / Bama on the other hand likes to run up scores for the "WOW" effect with the sports media.I loved Dabo's idea of getting QB's in the game. He played 4 deep at most positions where he had players available. He's a great human being and coach who thinks about the development of young men. The Tigers could have score 80+ had they wanted to humiliate Ball State!

I tend to agree, but I think we all need to understand that Brent is going to need some time to recruit, and develope this young defense.
What I noticed yesterday, and against Auburn was a defense that did bend, but didn't break.
Still Ball State has a pretty good offense.
