This is more P&Rish but really it needs to be in here.

Interesting and very populist take. He's beating his chest on wage growth because.... He can. They're growing. They're up in the US too. He doesn't mention they're growing because of inflation, caused by..... Humm... Wage growth is even higher in Venezuela. ??. This is exactly the problem with democracies and with populist who universally herald their end. And he will be reelected easily. Most people alive and working today don't remember a time when you could make 5% maybe 10% more money per year, and be poorer than you were the year before. The myopic crowd sees that one metric and they're sold. He knows this. And for him that is the most important metric and he knows that is the winning sales pitch. Doesn't matter if there are people dying, soldiers delivering fuel to gas stations, an energy crisis, nope.... If people make more money than last year he knows they will ignore the rest. Including the fact they're actually poorer.

Most voters can’t do math. Ask them about the rate of inflation and they will tell you their tires say about 35 psi.
