we give out 5 or 6 schollies to walk-ons every year and still don't meet 85

Didn't the NCAA lift the 85 Scholly rule for 2022 or 2023?

Slave? Really dude? Some of us think it's an honor to serve.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Of course it’s an honor, I never said it wasn’t.

Dec 14, 2022, 10:38 PM

I have the utmost respect for those who serve our country.

But the reality is that you’re theirs for five years after that “free” education, and they can send you wherever they want. Some people don’t want to do that, which is why I don’t find it so hard to believe that this young man chose Clemson over the service academies.

Dec 15, 2022, 6:14 AM

I’ve been reading your posts on here for a very long time. You’ve caught a lot of heat and I’ve felt sorry for you at times. But to say a young man is a slave to the services for five years is just STUPID. You’re the dumbest son of a bytch I’ve encountered on here. You wouldn’t and couldn’t and would never deserve to hold the shoe strings of a young man in uniform of this country. I too thought this young man might be better off attending one of the finest places of higher learning in the world, followed by serving this great nation. He will play some over the next few years and will be an asset to this team and school. He might even surprise a lot of us and excel on the field. But, I think you ought to put your mouth to better use and kiss my ###!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Of course it’s an honor, I never said it wasn’t.

Dec 15, 2022, 8:49 PM

If the service academies were not right for him, OK. Seems like a good kid.

Your slave comment is definitely out of line. Low brow for someone from Clemson.
Death Valley is Memorial Stadium, everyone that serves these days are Volunteers.
Clemson was an all military school?
Take a walk cross from Howard’s rock and read the names in the memorial garden.

Dec 15, 2022, 7:55 AM [ in reply to Re: And then be a slave to the military for five years.*** ]

As a former AF vet, your reference to "slave" may be accurate when it comes to today's "woke" military. For those who don't follow news, there is a bit of BDSM in the ranks these days, and he could have been a "pup" on a leash or a bondage slave. This ain't exactly the military I was in 50 years ago, and the services will have a difficult time meeting their recruiting and retention goals for years to come unless all this "woke" crap is done away with. The AF is already 2000 pilots down! Just sayin'....

Re: You seem to be easily offended.

Dec 15, 2022, 9:42 AM [ in reply to You seem to be easily offended. ]

I think you might have found some better words to use than being a slave who honorably serves our country. We already have enough wokes out there denigrating that privilege who simply don't know better and have no clue what serving really means and how it protects the freedoms they so easily dismiss because they think they are entitled to those rights without a price being paid.

appears to have good field vision. I just wish that RB kids posting their video would show more than just the breakaways when no one touches them, but the hard runs, the 3 yard 2nd and 3rd effort runs. But, I'm not coaching, so I guess it doesn't matter....

Best of luck, hope you win the Heisman, Horning and the walk on award. I'm partial to walk ons.
