The day the NCAA died . . .

Jul 25, 2021, 10:03 AM

IMO UNC completed the murder of the NCAA. I will get all your arguments that millions of other things have happened. But paying players, giving cars, etc was bad but wasn’t what broke the NCAA. It was when one of its premier Universities figuratively stuck their middle finger up at the NCAA and said we are going to undermine academics so much so that we are going to create classes that don’t exist to get our players through so we can make it to the Final Four, win a National Championship or two, and keep dominating Clemson at Home. And there is not a ###### thing you can or will do about it. NCAA was already on life support and had been impotent for 30 years. But UNC kicked down the door and finished off the NCAA while it was sleeping.

I agree that was an extremely important development…and not good.***

On this day in History; Ike entered Berlin, Nimitz entered Tokyo( or was it MacArthur).
You give UNC way too much credit.

And the UNCheat fans on here don’t see the problem

because those “classes” were available to all.

There's something in these hills.

They were not the type of classes an academic would want to take anyway but I agree with the
death of the NCAA.
When any governing body looks the other way when the infraction is public and does nothing what can you expect? That includes the Feds.

They have officially been corrupt as hayull and a total joke

for a long, long time. They have turned a blind eye for 50+ years to athletes, especially basketball and football players, who could not do college level work if their lives depended on it. We all know that. Enforcement has been random and totally unfair (Clemson) for most of that time, and pretty much non-existent in recent years.

Bye Bye Miss American Pie…..

Never really knew exactly what that meant but seems appropriate in this regard as well

If you have a notion, look up the back story to the lyrics. Takes what I think is a cool song, to "a whole nother level."

and remember ole impartial ACC comish held their hand the entire way. Never has done anything remotely similar for any other ACC school. SHould have been fired before he even got back from that meeting
