And the "Crooked" number appears . . .

Oct 7, 2019, 5:04 PM

Swanson's double , Duvall's infield hit (???) and an Albies HR puts the Braves up 4-3!!!!!!!

And what about O'Day . . .

Oct 7, 2019, 5:21 PM

in relief of Luke after giving up a double to Goldy . . . O'Day facing the 2 HR Ozuna . . . whom he retired with no problem!!!

Hope O'Day gets another inning . . .

Duvall is as "hot" as any hitter we have lately . . .

Oct 7, 2019, 5:39 PM

It's time to kick the doors in!!! Bases loaded for Duvall . . .

Ahhh . . . Old "Red-Beard" Brebbia is up for the task and makes Duvall look bad . . . Still 4-3 Braves

Another squandered bases loaded opportunity in the 7th . . .

Did anyone else think that Acuña might could have scored on the "sun triple"???

Do you ever wish you knew a manager's thoughts???

Oct 7, 2019, 6:26 PM

Tomlin faces 4 batters over the 7th and 8th inning . . . Retiring all easily . . .

Goldy and Ozuna are the next two hitters and Tomlin is pulled . . . Greene is in . . . would love to know Snit's thoughts

No second guessing here . . . Just would love to know his reasoning . . .

Any thoughts???

Leaving the bases loaded in 2 straight innings when you could have blown the game wide ### open, hate that sh!t

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

All tied.... DAMB! Let the second guessing begin!

Need to do something here in the 9th with Acuna leading off with a ground rule double

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Freddie has struggled all series . . .

Oct 7, 2019, 6:53 PM

Yea no doubt bad time for Freddie to go into a funk at the plate

Not just today. He’s 6 for his last 51. He didn’t have a clue today. I’ve never seen a major league hitter swing and miss so many times.

Can Teheran get through the long ball hitters???

Oct 7, 2019, 7:13 PM

S C A R Y . . .

Great Ballgame!!! Even though I'm not fond of the outcome. Tip of the Cap to Molina and the Cards!

Maybe the Atlanta faithful will get a treat on Wednesday . . .

Had a chance to kick the doors in . . . and didn't!!!

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Braves gave this one away.

Oct 7, 2019, 7:23 PM

I feel good about Wednesday at home, but still, this series should be over.

Yup...

Oct 7, 2019, 7:32 PM

Braves left WAY TOO MANY runners on base today (0 for 9 with RISP and 9 runners LOB).

Freeman and Donaldson couldn't hit for ****. Freeman is 0 for 12 in the series with a walk. Donaldson is 2 - 11 (.181). To further compound matters, Donaldson didn't cover third on a double play ball back to the mound.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Freddie is hitting poorly in the NLCS . . .

Oct 7, 2019, 8:49 PM

He is actually 2 for 16 (.125 avg)

Wow. It’s crazy that in 52 career postseason ab’s Freddie only has 2 rbi.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He has hit two solo HRs . . .

Oct 7, 2019, 9:10 PM

in his Post Season Life . . . He has never driven in a teammate . . . Now THAT is shocking

Re: Braves gave this one away.

Oct 7, 2019, 7:32 PM [ in reply to Braves gave this one away. ]

Losing the first game of the series after having a 6-2 lead in the late innings and today having 3 innings(6th,7th and 8th)with great opportunities for a nice inning to pad a 3-1 lead and then not getting it done is just flat out frustrating to say the least but oh well it's back to Atlanta now on Wednesday for a 5:00 Game 5 Winner advance on to the next series

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

we never were ahead 3-1 today . . .

Oct 7, 2019, 8:44 PM

We were down 3-1 when Ozuna hit his second HR off Keuchel.

Covering third by Donaldson was not a possibility as the shift was on and he was too far from the bag (ball back to Teheran).

Freddie almost cost us the game in the previous inning when he failed to align himself on the right field side of the runner returning to first to tag up . . . plus he left a handful of runners in scoring position ALL DAY . . . He must play better!!!!!!!

The bullpen pitched well enough to win . . . but you must score the easy runs . . . referencing Acuña on third w/ ZERO OUTS!!!!!!!

Here's to hoping they treat the city of Atlanta on Wednesday!!!

Dude what games were you watching? The braves never had a 6-2 lead in the first game. They were up 3-1 in the late innings. In today’s game the braves were never up 3-1. The cardinals were leading by that score.

It’s time for the Bravo’s to make a statement! Play loose, let it ride baby!!!!

Re: And the "Crooked" number appears . . .

Oct 7, 2019, 8:31 PM

A couple questions since I couldn’t keep up with it. Could Teheran have gone to 3rd for the out? Seems like that would have been the play.

Second, in playoffs, why not a squeeze bunt down first with Acuña on third. Take your chance.

Too bad that Freddie and JD bombed out when needed the most. Tough loss to take.

Go Braves! Wrap it on Wednesday.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg2016_pickem_champ.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There was no option at third . . .

Oct 7, 2019, 8:57 PM

There was a shift towards right on . . . Donaldson was too far off the bag . . .

Teheran made the correct play without hesitation . . .

Bunting is a past art . . . Culberson was the only good bunter on the team . . . He may never bunt again!

Acuña, with his speed, could have scored on a safety squeeze with ease . . . I like the thought, but I'm too old . . . Remember???

Albies or Freddie should have been able to get a sac fly at least . . . That run had to score to win.

Re: And the "Crooked" number appears . . .

Oct 7, 2019, 8:59 PM [ in reply to Re: And the "Crooked" number appears . . . ]

No, he couldn’t throw to third because Donaldson broke toward the ball when it was hit. I’m not sure why he did as it appeared Swanson would have had it covered had Tehran not been able to get it. There was no one at third for him to throw to. His only play was either second or third. They came close to turning the double play. Oh well. You just can’t leave 9 men on base and expect to win. It’s looking like it might be 19 years before they’ll win another series. When I was growing up, it seemed they couldn’t win a World Series (finally did my senior year of high school) and for the last almost twenty years they can’t win any series it seems. I hope they win on Wednesday, but I’m beginning to feel like Charlie Brown trying time kick the football. ??
