Mark Richt to Miami as new HC?

Dec 2, 2015, 5:34 PM

Miami (FL): CanesInSight.com reporter Peter Ariz reports Mark Richt is expected to be named Miami head coach. CBS Sports had previously reported that the job would be Richt's if he wanted it. More coming on CoachingSearch.com

Miami did, by far, the most "big time" coaching search

They interviewed Richt, Schiano, Butch Davis, and Dan Mullen. All of those guy have been successful head coaches. Meanwhile, UGa and USC hired coordinators with no head coaching experience. VT interviewed some guys who've had a little head coaching success, but Fuente hasn't proven himself at a big time program the way the guys Miami interviewed did.

Meanwhile, Ray Tanner looks like he's going to strike out unless he can really surprise people with hiring whoever's left. They're the only major program still left without a coach.

VT is keeping Foster

Fuente(?) will hit the ground running. But yes the ACC schools seem to be making the better hires. ESPN will not like this.

last coach we hired didn't have head coach experience..

is getting very deep

Atlantic: Dabo
Jimbo
Petrino

Coastal: Fedora
Narduzzi
Richt
Fuentes
Cutcliffe

Those are some big time, top tier college football coaches. ACC is in great position.

The BC and NCS coaches aren't that bad either.***

Agree, I believe that Addazio and Doeren will get their programs going in the right direction.

IF UVA can get Dykes, we may need to realign the conferences.

so the u will continue to be mediocre...

Richt is a has been. He is one of those coaches that do good for a 10-15 year period. But, UGA got diminishing returns with him, with an extremely talented roster over the past 5 years
