4 times the projected cost. As cool as seeing this rocket lift off will be, it is a real threat to the future of Space exploration.
I think Jim Bridenstine had the right idea in privatizing contracts to save the human space program.
But I will enjoy the product of this boondoggle none the less.

Can we afford this right now ? Looks like we can but not according to the latest inflation numbers. The U.S.A. lives on credit now. Spend way, way, way more than we take in. Hope a collapse does not happen.

No worries. They are printing money faster than we can spend it.

American’s are so jaded nowadays. Project Artemis will probably be turned into some political culture war soon, but I am thrilled that the USA is pushing the boundaries of human capability. We waste money in so many ways, this ain’t one of them.

if the goal is to create a permanent human space exploration presence, the Artemis mission is more of a hinderance than a help since it is unsustainable and uses outdated throw away technology.
It is diverting money away from the real future of space exploration.
Sure, it will be great to see an old Saturn Five type of launch and to have men step foot on the moon again. But the money spent on Artemis should have been put into renewable rockets, inter planetary communications and gateway infrastructure.
