Go ahead give me a TD

I love Clemson and our football team but there are things to fix. We were flat out lucky on Saturday. All you "a win is a win" are blind. An elite team doesn't need a kicker to miss a FG to beat an unranked team at home. Personally I wish Dabo would call a spade a spade. Hopefully behind the scenes he is and will get some things fixed. Our O line couldn't block like they should, our play calling is uninspired and our QB is slower and down since last year. Go ahead and call me a coot. Just calling it without orange colored glasses on. We have the talent. Hope our coaches get it together or I fear we will not be meeting up with Alabama let alone going toe to toe with them.

They can't all be perfect 10's....

no matter how much we'd like for them to be. When you are ranked among the nations elite, most games, you're going to get the best an opponent has to offer.
The fact of the matter is, we're 7 - 0 and have yet to play our best game (at least offensively).
Maybe, just maybe, our fans have become a little spoiled. They expect the team to go out every game, pitch a shutout while putting-up 500 yards of offense and scoring 50 points. Otherwise, it's time to push the panic button.
Again, they can't all be perfect 10's.

An elite team, or not, will take every break they can get. The timing of a break may stand out more for one than the other, but don't doubt the effect an earlier play in a game can affect a later one. As another poster observed, one can't discount Wilkin's earlier block for affecting the shank. Cause...and effect...has its place. And...as a reminder, elite teams have elite players. Perhaps Wilkin's 'blocked' two kicks?!?

There isn't a person in this world that doesn't believe that improvements must be made.

But a win is a win. I choose to appreciate them when I can get them. Dabo and company know that they have to fix some things. They've even said so in post game interviews. The fact of the matter is, Clemson is 7-0 and has had the opportunity to learn some valuable lessons about their football team. We have a bye week ahead of us before a very tough opponent. Clemson is right where they need to be. 1st in the ACC and undefeated. Only thing we need is for them to keep it that way.
For now, it's good to be a Tiger. Let's enjoy it while we can.
Go Tigers!

Yes we were very fortunate to win the game yesterday. You also must remember in the days of 13 and 12 games to win a title only one team and sometimes none finished the season unbeaten and almost every elite team got beat by a team they were favored over. Now when it takes 15 games to win a title an unbeaten team will even be more rare.
You go ahead and believe this team has all kinds of issues, but the truth is they have only one turnovers. Without those four turnovers Clemson wins that game by 5 or 6 touchdowns and no one is complaining. We fumbles twice inside the 5, gave them 7 on a pick 6, Gall man fumiled after getting knocked out on a 18 yard run that gave us a 1st down in field goal range. We also turned the ball over on downs at the 1 yard line. Our D played very well giving up 10 points despite having all the turnovers.
The coaches have two weeks to fix the turnovers, if the don't FSU will beat us, if the do we win. We will then beat Syracuse, Pitt, Wake, USCjr, and whoever we play from the Coastal. We'll be 13 and 0 and 1 win from a 2nd straight title game, and if they fix it the only thing people will remember about ncst is that it was a win.

The turnovers were a problem last season also . I just hope yesterday was that wake up call and the team realizes how close they are to greatness. I mean a 33 yard FG and the dream would have been over. We play turnover free and the O-line gets it together this team could go 15-0. FSU is going to bring it and they are too good at home to make mistakes. It's going to take our A game to beat them. The Coaches need to step it up also because it all starts with them.

Your assessment of our team didn't include the part about our O-line not playing well and criticism of the best QB to ever wear the paw. You don't put up 495 yards of offense and allow only 2 sacks on 52 pass attempts against a top ten defense if your O-line isn't playing well most of the time. DW4s passer rating was 145 Saturday and he is second in the Heisman race right now. Turn overs and dropped passes are a problem. They are keeping us from blowing out some pretty good competition. The players and coaches realize that and have a couple of weeks to get back to fundamentals and get that cleaned up. I'd be worried if our wounds weren't self inflicted and correctable. Relax and enjoy the journey. These are the good old days we will talk about the rest of our lives.

Into our plans. From the beginning, it was obvious we were going with a run first mentality. We had to come up with a new plan on the fly and did well with what we came up.

Remember just last year when Bama lost at home to Ole Miss , then needed a miracle to beat Tennessee a month or so later ?
Yes , elite teams sometimes do need a kicker to miss a field goal . Football isn't a sport where the prohibitive favorite can just show up and win , maybe you're thinking of some other activity ?

They needed missed FG, and much more several times that season.
The turnovers were not characteristic Saturday. Crazy things happened Saturday with the fumbles. The ball bounced the wrong way each time. We ran up and down the field and had turnovbers INSIDE the 10 (maybe the 5) 3 times, right?
Trivia for you... How many minutes did NCSU lead in the game Saturday?
Go Tigers!
