And yet here we are looking like the ACC will be the one to disappear into oblivion and the Big12 may survive. That’s what’s called leadership. Others have it. The ACC doesn’t.

Swofford’s lasting leadership legacy could be dissolving of the ACC because of his absolutely ludicrous TV deal that has handcuffed us all.

This statement isn't yet based in fact. ACC teams are

wedded together, B12 still scrambling for some version of a tv deal and trying to poach other schools to stabilize themselves. The Big 8/12 has never been stable in the past, and probably never will in the future.

Geography matters. The ACC would have to jump the SEC and the B10 to find teams. The logistics would be crappy at best.

I agree but the B1G now stretches from coast to coast.

We need to poach Penn St., Baylor, Okla. St., and one more.

Penn State zero chance. Why would they leave the money of the Big 10?

Clemson will be fine.***

This seems to be the common thought except the Big 12’s new TV deal is roughly equivalent to the ACC deal everyone is up in arms about. The reality is, the only reason the ACC is struggling is the remaining brands believe they could make equal money to the BIG/SEC if they were not tied to the ACC contract. The Big 12 schools have accepted the tier 2 status and are happy making more than ever before.
