regional right? You have to lose 2 games to be eliminated and last time I checked we have only lost 1. I mean, just logging onto this site and seeing all the posts like we have already been eliminated makes me sick. I'm not even an alumni (son of one though and have been going to Clemson games my whole life) Vandy played good, and we played a clean game but just couldn't capitalize. We have another game to play and another game to win, the most important game of the season is St. Johns.

I remember some people gave up in 2016 when we lost to Pitt. Kept saying something was wrong with the team and the last thing I remember was winning the National Championship. I'm not saying this is going to happen with the baseball team, but we still have a game to win tomorrow at noon.

No kidding.
People forget that in college baseball everybody has 11.7 scholarships to work with. Anybody can beat anybody. I'm disappointed we lost too, but some of the posts on here are just retarded.

Doesn't Vandy do something tricky with its endowment to get around the 11.7 scholarship rule? I doubt any of those players are paying 50% of the $65K per year to go there.

Not sure, but if they are they aren't the only school out there doing it. For example, Furman does exactly that for the same reason.
Then again, Clemson is a better school and easier place to recruit baseball players to. Still think we'll win it all under Monte Lee...baseball is a humbling sport sometimes.

The original poster is correct. We do have at least another contest today, however winning three in a row against quality opponents won’t be easy. The team faces a tough set of circumstances and will clearly be challenged. Fans need to realize we have a good solid team, however last night revealed our weaknesses. Let’s all see what happens and hope Monte and staff can get us out of the regional.

Yep. That’s why it happens less than 10% of the time, and even less unless it’s a fluke win against a clear dominant team which we are not.

Not the same in this situation since we have used a lot of pitching already compared to having most guys ready. Like last year we are going to need one guy to go the distance today to have a shot at getting to Monday.
