For those ?’ing George Floyd’s criminal record and why protest with him in mind...

Jun 7, 2020, 11:07 AM

Remember this from Mark 2nd chapter in the Bible? They questioned Jesus too about hanging with “sinners”(criminals).....

15 While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. 16 When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come for the righteous [but for those who need a savior (deliverance, help, hope, redemption, special attention)]

Relevant & timely scriptural lessons Rev Howard..

and equally as impressive & relevant is that TigerNet has a collage of many men & women who are astute & loving Clemson fans & grads (as you are & being a senior pastor too).

Saying..I like the fact we have people from all walks of life & occupations & races & belief systems..

and the best part is we are trying to keep our heads screwed on pretty tight thru these crazy times..times that the Bible predicted we would have (even though we put our faith more into super computers, AI, progressive thinkers, elected & bias public officials, etc).

We are mere humans..so frail & easily challenged to that around us.

Go TiGERS..hold that Tiger & hold onto that Rock too!

Personally, I don't care nothing about the crime that Floyd did or didn't do to get arrested. I care about how he was treated after the arrest was made, and he was is sound police custody to the point that there was no way possible he could have been any harm to himself or anybody else.

My issue is with the way he was treated after the fact of being in custody. George Floyd was killed by police brutality delivered by an over zealous cop while other agents of the police force stood by and done nothing to save George Floyd's life while he was gasping for his last breath.

IMO, the hand of one is the hand of all is clear in this case bc police officers stood by watching and done nothing to prevent the death of George Floyd, and they are just as guilty as the police officer that strangled the life from George Floyd. And the only way to deter that from happening again, is to enforce the hand of one is the hand of all Law. Everyone of those officers should be prosecuted with the charge of 1st Degree Manslaughter with intent bc, Floyd was handcuffed with his hand behind his back face down with no possible way to defend himself in a way to save his own life by using his hands/arms to roll over and catch his breath. Their brutal assault on Floyd did in fact kill George Floyd just as dead if they would have used their firearms!!!

Doesn't matter how much of a POS you may have been up to that point, it still doesn't give a cop the right to play executioner.

Nobody is ssying that.***

You are correct Pastor Brown! If the requirement to protest

Jun 7, 2020, 3:01 PM

was to protest the victimization of a good person, there would never be any protests, because there are no good people.

There is only One who is Good, and He is the objective standard to which all are measured.

all of this isn't about Floyd

Jun 8, 2020, 5:28 PM

However heinous that killing might be, and IMO it apparently was that bad, what we are seeing is the use of an emotional event to stir up the population to change/overthrow our way of life.

Much info says they wait and plan to have these insurrections, money and hired rioters ready.

They will continue to stir the pot. When the emotions and uproar die down they will look for the next emotional event to trigger the crowd.

I'm sorry, but you just don't get it. "Our way of life" needs to change because these things still happen in the year 2020.

I'm not defending looters, criminals and traveling protesters who have no conscience and capitalize on events like these. But you must understand violent racism (by law enforcement and others) has been going on for years, with many recorded by cameras. Unfortunately, low key reactions don't result in any changes. That is why you see the volcanic eruption this time around. Until everyone is made uncomfortable enough, nothing changes.

So, yes, our way of life is going to change in some way or another. Get used to the idea. The clock won't be turning back or remaining stuck where it is now.

As one who organized protests in the 60s I realize that quite well. We must change. That doesn’t change the fact that there are forces out there who seek massive changes far beyond eliminating police brutality issues.

The statistics show that racism is down as is police

brutality. This is more than about those things.
