There is not much of a comparison between our basketball team and Duke's football team, other than where they rank in $ spent on that sport compared to the rest of the ACC.

There is not much of a comparison between our basketball team and Duke's football team, Duke has won several ACC championships in football and played for another in recent memory.

And I am sure that Spurrier took that successful (checking notes) 8-4 season and built upon that for the 1990 season.
Man, 1989 was a weird season. Virginia and Duke as Co-Champs. Clemson won the ACC regular season.

Lol - worse than your Vanderbilt take. 6 bowls, 3 wins during Brownell’s tenure. This one might actually be a tie. If you want to adjust for funds spent as a % of the league average we’d probably lose and lose badly. Duke spends only $25 million, total, annually on football. That’s a much lower percentage compared to the rest of the conference than our basketball budget.

By all means, if you want Clemson's basketball program to be more like Duke football, then good for you. You are so delusional.
They have had losing seasons 7 out of the last 12. They were .500 and made a bowl game in 2 of those years. Do you seriously think making a bowl game is comparable to making the tourney? If you could make the tourney going .500 and playing a crappy schedule, then brownell would be in nearly every year.

More titles than UNC. Better than NC State, but not as cool as WF.
However, the only Duke game I went to was terrible (1989)
