Again, the BIG is not an option because Clemson is not an AAU...

School. All Big Ten teams are AAU schools or were like Nebraska.

Either SEC, ACC expansion or bust...

That’s fine we don’t want to be a AAU team anyways ??

Don't understand why we aren't an AAU insitution. This should have been an institutional goal for years.

Well, it is complicated…

Jul 2, 2022, 6:50 PM

First of all, it requires a lot of investment in R&D and that ain’t cheap. If we offered majors in professional fields like becoming a medical doctor or a vet or lawyer or something along those lines, it would have occurred naturally. Think Stanford, Duke, Florida, Michigan, ND, etc.
Even UNC, Vandy, Pitt, UVA, Scar and GA are closer to it than us or NC State

Being a lang grant institution in a rural and textile type region, the school has had a different mission… agricultural being a big one, engineering being another. Clemson has expanded majors and schosince the 1970s, but not to the level those other schools have. That has a lot to do with our roots and then our student size. Then you have to have students graduate with certain grade levels in those fields.

If you think Clemson has it hard on that front, I talked to a WVU insider and he said they cannot get there because their charter requires then to accept any WVU resident who applies into WVU. Talk about creating a low end common denominator as the starting point. ??

Neither is Notre Dame…***

Or win the ACC, go undefeated and beat Bama again for the National Championship. There is no football world where we go undefeated and don't make the Playoffs.

How is NOTRE DAME the #1 B1G option without AAU credentials? How is Nebraska not kicked out? Looks like precedent has become a preference @nctigs.

TV is dictating conference alignments now, not a factor***
