After you retire you legacy grows

Jul 21, 2021, 11:22 PM

Two examples are Bobby Bowden and Lou Holtz. How many remember that Bowden had wins "vacated" because of recruiting or other violations and the recruit that told about the lobster and steak dinners, that resulted in rule changes.

How many can name me the number of schools that Holtz left that didn't receive probation. Look it up and name me one. Notre Dame is on the list not to mention USCjr.

I wish them no ill but let's not become so "woke" that we don't remember the facts.

You are correct. Yet Holtz is in the coaches Hall of Fame. Sometimes facts don't matter to some. Holtz should have never even been mentioned for the hall.

I retired 4 years ago. I'm still looking for my "legacy". Granted I was never famous but I'd like to be remembered by more than "Leftie" or that some of you think I'm a coot because I sometimes play Devil's Advocate or don't see eye to eye with your postings.
Hey, maybe I just found it. You know ,like that old country song "Looking for Love in all the Wrong Places" I was just looking in the wrong place.
